La Casita 2 — Restaurant in Hayward

I had been to la casita before and the food was delicious . Today however it was not . I Came with my family and I ordered the same thing as before chicken breast with shrimp. Most of my family ordered Mariscos (seafood) which is the about the only thing that the place is good for . The food took 1 hour to get to us . The waitress was too busy and hardly came to check up on us . The chicken was so dry and the back of it felt like I was chewing on a shrimp shell way too crunchy like beef jerky . My aunt ordered a birrea and it was disgusting tasted like nothing but salt so she left 95 percent of the plate like it was . When the waitress got there and ask us how everything was we mentioned that the Birrea was way too salty and she couldn’t eat it she just laughed and she blamed it on my aunts headache. What’s that suppose to mean ? As a waitress you are suppose to do what is possible to make your customers satisfied and we were not . She didn’t offer to replace the item or to have it discounted . We had to pay for something that was salty and that we didn’t even eat . Then I kept mentioning that my chicken was dry and crunchy and she would just ignore me while picking up the plates . That is defiantly bad customer service you are suppose to listen and come up with a solution . I don’t know if it’s the manager who doesn’t allow them to give discounts or switch out the food if something’s wrong with it . Perhaps that’s why she was just laughing things off and avoiding us . But a few cents and a change of meal isn’t gonna hurt as much as clients not returning . The issue could have been resloved but the waitress refused to address it . Manager - Please talk to your waitresses so they can learn how to serve customers and keep them coming back . We will not come back . The waitres has blonde hair and black roots looked to be in her late 40s. To top off the bad service & nasty food the bathrooms were disgusting there was no toilet paper half of it was on the floor ,the tables are dirty.There Are tables available and the waitress still have us wait because they are too lazy to clean them up . I lived around the corner from this place from 1996-2021, witnessing it's changes over 25 years. It used to be a little hole-in-the-wall spot called Las Canastas (#2) but changed owners and its name maybe 10 years ago. I believe it has really gone downhill recently and I'm quite sad about it.

Back in the late 90s to early 00s, their asada could NOT be beat by anyone. It was so good I was literally addicted to it and would eat there like three to five times a week, easily. That awesome cook either died or moved to Mexico or something in maybe 2005ish and their asada has never come close to comparing again.

Recently, they handed me their latest menu (probably their 10th in as many years) and not only was I disappointed with my order (asada quesadilla), my companion actually refused to eat her meal (red sauce chicken enchiladas with rice and beans), only eating chips and salsa instead. I tasted her rice and beans and could see why she was disgusted with them - they tasted like pasty cardboard infused with chemicals. Foul, indeed.

Their service was horrible, getting our orders wrong, never bringing me my drink, and never giving us a bill, even after clearing our plates. It was expensive and we took nothing home with us - we didn't want to make our dogs sick.

The only positive thing about the place is that they FINALLY turned the music down inside so you can hear the person sitting across the table from you without them having to shout. Other than that, La Casita consistently disappoints and I've finally decided to stop going there in hopes thing will improve. Go to Taquero Metro on A Street at I-880 instead. Went to eat here yesterday and I have eaten here before but it was about a year ago and the food was good. This time the service and food was horrible. To start off our waitress was already taking our menus before we have even ordered. We barely said we wanted nachos and was taking the menu away. We still wanted to get tacos and a burrito and we told her that we were still ordering so then she was just memorizing our order and then she was like wait let me get my notebook. So she made us repeat our order and looked annoyed with us. Right off the bat I told my bf that we should have cancelled the order and left but we eaten here before so we still gave it a try. When our food and drinks got there. The horchata did have no flavor whats so ever. The tacos were alright and were missing flavor. My bf ordered a burrito with chicken (pollo asado) and said it tasted like rotisserie chicken you get at Costco. The only thing that was good was the nachos. The waitress did not check up on us at all and we had to go up to her to ask for boxes because we were not going to leave food that we paid for. She didn't even look at us and asked the other waitress to check us out. The waitress was on the short side black hair and was wearing a ponytail with a pink scrunchy. Me and my boyfriend our in our 20's and are hispanic so I am not sure if she was thinking we were not going to pay or had something against us or overall is a bad waitress. Take this review as you will but we just had a really bad experience and would not want others to be treated like we were.

Fui a comer aquí ayer y he comido aquí antes, pero fue hace aproximadamente un año y la comida estaba buena. Esta vez el servicio y la comida fue horrible. Para comenzar, nuestra camarera ya estaba tomando nuestros menús incluso antes de que ordenáramos. Apenas dijimos que queríamos nachos y ya estaba retirando el menú. Así que nos hizo repetir nuestro pedido y parecía molesta con nosotros. Inmediatamente le dije a mi novio que deberíamos haber cancelado el pedido y nos habernos ido, pero amos comido aquí antes, así que aún así lo intentamos. Cuando nuestra comida y bebida's llegaron. La horchata no tenía ningún sabor. Los tacos estaban mas o menos y les faltaba sabor. Mi novio pidió un burrito con pollo asado y dijo que sabía a pollo rostizado que obtienes en Costco. Lo único que estaba bueno eran los nachos. La camarera no nos pregunto como estabamos o nada y tuvimos que acercarnos a ella para pedirle cajas porque no íbamos a dejar la comida que habíamos pagado. Ni siquiera nos miró y le pidió a la otra camarera que nos revisara. La camarera era bajita y tenía el pelo negro y llevaba una cola de caballo con un liga rosa. Mi novio y yo tenemos 20 años y somos hispanos, así que no estoy segura si ella pensaba que no íbamos a pagar o tenía algo en contra de nosotros o, en general, es una mala camarera.
