I ordered 3 super tacos, a super burrito, and sides of rice and beans, 3 drinks for 4 people To-go. I ordered at the register. ONE tiny container of orange sauce, no spoons or forks for the rice and beans. Are we supposed to share ONE SINGULAR SAUCE? And just pass it around asking people not to get too much and only get 1/4 of the container? Or does the burrito guy get more because his order was bigger? They have "$0.25 for each extra sauce" or something listed on the glass. They could at least ask what sauce each order wants but man, the taquerias with an open salsa bar and empty containers is really missed these days. Food was alright. Buche was BOMB. Carnitas was dry and overly shredded but edible. Milanesa Burrito guy was happy. Carne asada guy was content. Rice.....literally had over 1 full Tablespoon(literally) in the bottom of the container, I had to go back in the store and ask for another container to scoop out the top of the rice that wasn't drenched in oil and I had to throw away the rice container soaked in red oil and like 15-20% of the rice. Beans were very good, but a little salty and thick/viscous and mine came with a chunk of pork...not sure if thats normal but I enjoyed it. I'd go back for the tacos because the buche was really tasty and the tortillas help up nicely. Nothing worse than a taco you can't even pick up because the tortilla is soggy and falling apart. This experience was not great. Far too greedy with their own stash of sauce for the amount of food(1? Really?) And the rice was ridiculous, swimming in oil. I should've just asked for another one but I didn't want to bother going back into the restaurant for a 4th time after going in for another sauce, seeing no utensils, and asking for another empty rice container. I hope they can improve those things, its just execution expect for the salsa debacle. They're obviously doing well for themselves. -Coming from someone that used to visit the downtown location often, back in the day, especially after going out...
Read moreNormally have a great visit at la vic's, not the case this time. Called an order ahead for a veggie super burrito, an al pastor super burrito and 4 carne asada tacos. I arrived over 30 mins later and food still wasn't ready. When I paid, , the cashier read my order back wrong. I corrected her, she "fixed it" and I got my food 10 mins later. When I arrived home, my burritos were completely wrong. I had a super carne asada burrito and a classic al pastor burrito. I called and let them know my order was wrong, asked if could come back to get new ones. Young lady on the phone said yes and to bring back incorrect burritos. Got there, girl is confused as to why my burritos are wrong. I explain my order again to her, she still doesn't understand what's wrong with my burritos. I yet AGAIN, tell her what my order should be and what I received and she finally seems to understand. She tell the cook the order was wrong and the cook then tells her no it's not in Spanish. She explains there was meat in both burritos and one was veggie and he says there isn't, evn though the young lady literally looked instead the burritos I brought back. They can't find my originalticket to check modifications, I had my receipt and asked dif they wanted that, they said no. I offered to write the correct order down for them, they decline. The cook is still confused as to what my order it. I explain my order to him IN SPANISH and he remakes it. I check that my veggie burrito has no meat in it and I leave. When I arrive at home, my remade al pastor burrito is a regular burrito, not a super, and there were random bits of meat in my veggie burrito. I tried to call again with no answer. I paid $46 for an order that was incorrect TWICE. I would have been ok with an apology for getting the incorrect order but all of the young ladies and the cook made it seem like -I- was the inconvenience. Super disappointed in the quality of food...
Read moreThis place is so good and a huge improvement from their old location. They moved down a few blocks off mission into a building. It looks newly renovated and spacious inside, similar setup as their dt San Jose location. There were a few groups in line ordering ( why do customers take forever to order), but when we got to the front we quickly placed our order. Got a super carne asada burrito and a super al pastor burrito, side of chips (comes with salsa), large guava/pineapple agua fresca, and a bottle of orange sauce to go. All for $41. Not bad! If you dine in, you can use their orange/green sauce bottles.
Our food came out in 10 minutes. The burrito was a good big size and surprisingly so good! I feel like it tastes so much better than their old location. So much flavors and filling, also the burrito was warm and fresh. My husband's al pastor was really good, flavorful pork and also a good size burrito. They're $12.45 each. The guava/pineapple agua fresca was refreshing, it didn't taste too sweet and tasted like real fruits with chunks. Soooo gooood. We really enjoyed our meal and wanted to go back in line to order super nachos.
I'm glad they moved to a new location and revamped everything. We're looking forward to coming back here!
Update: tried their cheese quesadilla for $4 since we heard so many great things about it. It's pretty good - flat and crispy tortilla with cheese. Sooooo heavenly with the orange sauce. Now we are eager to come back and try their quesadilla with all the meats and...
