Rosy's Cafe — Restaurant in Hayward

When I go out to have breakfast, I want a smooth experience, this morning the owner was serving stress. I ordered eggs, bacon and hash browns, the owner asked me, "over easy, or medium", my response was, i want yoke, an all the white cooked, not runny. She would not take my order unless, I gave her the the choices she gave me, "Over Easy, or Medium", and I said, I'm not that clear with these choices. She asked, "how do you order your eggs when you've been at other places", I said the same way, some yoke, and all the white cooked. She said, "that's not how its ordered here, you need to tell me, over easy, or medium". I was forced to answer medium. This actually went on longer than than I am sharing. I almost got up and left, and I regret not having done so. She stated she is the owner. Being this is her line of business, I would think she can enlighten me, yet, she refused to help me understand the right way of ordering the eggs. I have ordered eggs, over medium, and medium before, and it's been hit or miss, but I never have gone wrong by ordering my eggs " a little yoke, all the white cook, it works all the time. The breakfast was bland, tasteless, the hash browns, less than desirable, and the eggs, well, lets just say, it was bad, so I only ate one. The waitress, no eye contact, hard to get her attention for more coffee, and or to at least bring a glass of water. Poor service! Thankfully, next time I go out for breakfast, I have several other choice to choose from. I won't be back...

First time I came service was great and food was good also. Second time our server was a young lady between 10 years old and up she took out order but never once came back to check on us. I don't mind that she is young working that's great but at least show her how to check on her tables she is serving. Then as we were leaving with my 7 year old son and 1 year old God son the boys were trying to figure out what toys they wanted from next to the register my God son accidentally broke one of the $2 toys at the bottom of the case, one of the ladies comes from the behind the register to make a big deal about it. Like really lady he is only 1years old he did not do it on purpose. If only I could of shown you guys her facial expressions before she even walked over to us.Too bad they dont pay that much attention to the young servers they have working at that place. Then as we are walking out they start speaking in Spanish, about the little toy guess they thought cause I looked white I didn't understand. Maybe that lady was just having a bad day but how she went about it all wrong. Best thing I've tried from here was the churro french toast. Worst thing from here, women working in back who have no clue how to deal with or talk...

Rosy's Cafe offers a wide variety of delicious foods, from traditional breakfasts, Mexican inspired breakfast foods, to lunch you'll find it here. I personally had and recommend the Fully Loaded Burger, the meat is tender, the bacon is thick without being chewy, and the fries are crisp and fluffy.

The service is very good, polite, and checks with you without hovering.

The environment is strewn with little nostalgic nicknacks and various inspiring quotes with a few snide coffee jokes as well. No music to speak of and the clientele is mostly older folks inside making for a peaceful experience that really lets you focus on the food.

The value of the meals is amazing. You get quite a lot of food for your money and most people will likely need a box to take out food.
