The Dirty Bird Lounge — Restaurant in Hayward

This is a good local spot to hang with friends. It does get crowded, try to get there early so you can grab a table. They sell food & bring it to your table. Downside, some patrons broke glass & no one cleaned it up. I didn't know we were dancing on it, I was wondering what I was stepping on & I finally went out to see what was on the bottom of my shoes & it was shards of glass. Also, the women's bathroom, 2 out of the 3 toilet stalls were OUT OF ORDER! Hello, if you're running a business that services has patrons, you need working and clean restrooms!! I flushed the toilet it sprayed water from the pipe towards my leg. Gross!! That's a definite no no! Fix your ish! If you go here, dont drink too much cause you don't want to use these restrooms. Update Feb 11, 2022. My friends wanted to have dinner here, so I went to try it. I prefer a nice sit down restaurant. This is a bar, so yes expect frozen fried foods that's overpriced. We ordered a few items: 1) Garlic prawns, def not prawns, more like popcorn shrimp and it was sitting on garlic & parsley. They really should change the name of these, I'd never buy them again! Lol at my pic & you'll agree. 2) Lemon pepper wings were meh, it had a weird bready crust and I didn't like the seasoning. 3) Garlic Fries, shoestring fries, glad they weren't overcooked, tossed in fresh garlic & parsley. 4) Chopped salad was decent, it was freshly chopped greens, tomatoes, cucumbers & onions with a tasty vinaigrette and a decent size. Check this place out if you are in the mood for a smooth going night on Sunday through Thursday. On a Friday night, it is busy and filled with folks from the young to the older crowd. This place opened this year around the Summer of 18'. The music is good and loud. The bartenders here are nice and good looking. I personally have a crush on one of the bartender. The staff is well rounded. The atmosphere is rustic meets hip hop. The old school brick walls and wood furnishings give its a nice touch on the vibe. It is a full bar. Beer, wine, cocktails, and liquor. Not quite a dive bar and not fully a lounge. They also serve food from slider burgers & fries to flatbread pizza. Tacos and burritos up till 11pm or so. And desserts of sorts. Happppppy hour specials from 4-7 pm every single day and a full skull shape size glass drink good for three. Because it has like 3 full shots of good stuff. There is a themed drink throughout the year. This spot caters to the younger college age crowd during the night hours. Especially the college campus that is up the hill of Hayward. But all walks of life show up here.
