We saw Hello Dolly! and this was our very first visit to the Douglas Morrison Theatre and definitely NOT the last. The seats are comfortable. The setting is intimate but well spaced. It is a small theatre so buy tickets EARLY as selection can get pretty slim for those matinee shows. Also, the parking lot is a good size but I don't think enough for all the seats they have. There is street parking. Again, I would recommend getting there 30 minutes or so prior to curtain to get parking and settled in your seats. There is no aisle between the rows - just rows that run the length of the Theatre so choose your seats accordingly. The women's bathroom has 4 stalls which also is not quite large enough to accommodate all female patrons during intermission. Read moreThis was our first visit to Hayward and to the Douglas Morrison Theatre--we are from Stockton. We attended the spectacular Sphinx Virtuosi Ensemble production and were blown away. The performance was uplifting for the musical talent, the creativity of the group, and the lovely introductions to each musical piece as per the composers, history, rendition, and cultural background of the musical pieces performed.
The theatre was the perfect venue to showcase this world class group. Seats are comfortable and every one can "see" the stage rather close and personal. Sound quality in the auditorium was great. Hosts and guides were friendly and helpful. The experience was just magnificent. The theatre and parking are easy to find & navigate. Every room including the bathrooms were very clean. We hope to see this group again and other events at this...

Seats are clean and comfortable. There’s a very useful furniture rental store that’s 10 to 15 min drive from theater for set or costume pieces on rent. Side-wings are too open and visible to audience sitting in the side corners though because the audience seating is in semi circle...
