Milys's Cake — Restaurant in Hazleton

Yesterday I ordered a cake that was almost $100 for a party. When it was time to eat the cake, it tasted terrible. The whipped frosting tasted weird and the cake itself had a weird aftertaste. As if it was spoiled. People ate a little bit of it to taste this cake but overall, everyone threw it away because of how nasty the taste was. Today, we decided to go back to the bakery to return the cake to either get a new one or put it in a credit. When we came and told them what had happened, they all did a taste test and said that we had weird taste buds and that it was fine. They said that we must have done something bad to the cake or that people must have gotten sick because of covid. They pretty much didn't want to admit that they were in the cake was weird because we had around 20 people in the party and they all said that the cake tasted weird. They gave us an extremely hard time and at one point and even used sarcasm during the negotiations. We tried getting the credit but they said the would give us $30 dollars in credit because we ate half of the cake even though we just said that most of us threw it away. They said that if we had such a big problem with them, we should file a lawsui. In the end, we were trying not toesculate things any further and we just got a cake (which was more than half of the cake we originally had yesterday) and left because we really didn't want to escalate things further. The ladies are super nice, but their cakes are not that good in my opinion. Not authentic dominican cake, the suspiro is super thick (like the ones they put on American cakes, supermarket type) nothing like your typical dominican suspiro. The cake itself was ok, but a little dry. The tres leche was horrible for me because it had like an almond flavor to it. I asked if it was regular because I realized they had flavored ones. She told me it was regular, but I guess regular to them is almond flavored. With a little work I think they can be amazing. Then again they may not need any work. People like what they like and it just may not be for me. As long as her regular clientele is satisfied, that's all...

This place was trash! I ordered a tres leches cake and they gave me tres corn bread. I asked for a Cry Babies design a cartoon that's on netflix and they gave me a plain pastel colors cake. Even after I gave them a picture of the cake I wanted. The lady assured me she could do it. When I picked up the cake I asked that lady "where are the cartoons that go on top? " She gave me attitude. After a long wait she handed me "L.O.L dolls" that she printed out of a computer. I didn't ask for L.O.L dolls. I had to take the cake with me and put my own things on top of it . She charged me $90...
