Old Town Espresso and Ice Cream — Restaurant in Heber Springs

Summary: Great people, Great coffee, Great timing & the cleanliness is impecable.

Let me start by giving you a range. I’ve traveled all over the U.S. and have hot coffee wherever I go, no matter the weather. It’s sacrosanct to me. I live in Colorado where they’ve made a science out of crafting coffee. I’ve been to my fair share of chains, such as StarBucks and equally the same with local small business coffee shops.

No matter where I go the secret ingredient that many don’t take into account is the interactions with the people. That’s what makes good coffee great every single time. The happy person gets that extra ingredient not on any menu. The angry person misses out on this and they choose to miss out on what could be great coffee instead of just good. That’s their loss.

I’ve been going to Old Town Espresso & Ice Cream in Heber for about a week, while I’ve been visiting. I have had the best small talks in this town, during my 2 minute wait, with the baristas as they multitask making my coffee and giving me that great interaction ingredient, not on the menu.

Kindness is always met with more kindness.

On the other side of that, be weary of reviewers who are always negative in their reviews. If all your interactions are bad, maybe the problem isn’t with others. Just sayin.

I'm not sure who is giving this place bad reviews but I've read some of the reviews and some people are just mean. Im sure it is more of the tourists than locals. I'm not a tourist or local, try to get a coffee when I visit my parents and I can promise that I've never had and issue. There are times the window drive-thru is very busy but it's well worth the wait so if your the type of person that gets angry and aggravated because you're having to wait a little while for your turn in line, I suggest you go elsewhere but don't give a business a bad review because you didn't like the wait. You never know what is going on from day to day with not having enough employees to work the shift, employees being sick and other factors that can create issues for the customers. coffee here is amazing especially the iced coffees plus very reasonably priced. Okay what really aggravated me was is I ordered a large iced coffee there was not very much ice in it by the time it melted it was still warm I asked for whipped cream they didn't put that on there as a matter of fact I asked twice for it and they still didn't put it on there but what really aggravated me was the paper straw that gave me wasn't long enough to go from out of the cup to the bottom of the cup so I had to take the top off and I filled it to the complete top which meant when you take the top off it spills everywhere I mean come on people if you give people a large drink don't you think the straw should be taller than the cup I don't know who's running this place but it's obvious they don't have it together good luck I hope you get it together and the coffee well on a scale of 1 to 10 I would give it about a four definitely need to go back to the drawing...
