Spread the Loaves is hands down one of the best artisan bakeries I’ve ever experienced! Every loaf is a perfect balance of rustic, flavorful, and beautifully crafted. You can taste the love and intention in every bite—from their crusty sourdoughs to the softer, more delicate loaves, each one is a work of edible art. The quality of ingredients is top-tier, and you can tell they take pride in their craft. Customer service is always warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable, which makes every visit feel like you’re stopping by a friend’s place. If you haven’t tried them yet, do yourself a favor and grab a loaf (or three). You won’t regret it! Personal Note to Justin & Sophie: Thank you both for sharing your gift with the community. Your passion, kindness, and dedication truly shine through in everything you do. Supporting Spread the Loaves never feels like a transaction—it feels like connection, care, and a little bit of magic in every loaf. Keep rising and shining—you’ve created something really special.

There was a line waiting to get in at 930am Saturday. Picked up my order of sourdough focaccia loafs. Pesto and Rosemary. Grilled a few slices with olive oil and dipped fresh pieces in the oil with cracked pepper. Mercy it was delicious! Tried some with grilled Swiss and Blue cheese too. Looking forward to trying some more of her baked bites of heaven!

Been following on social media for a long time watching the business grow but had never made it to pick up bread before !!!! Came at the end of the day today but still plenty of options for me to try and more reason to come back for more !! Excellent bread and cookies 🍪 🩷 totally worth the drive !

With my whole heart I can fully say Spread the Loaves is one of THE best places to grab a bite in San Antonio.

I've been living in San Antonio for 10 years now, and so many places lack great quality items while maintaining consistency. Not here. The loaves have always been moist and flavorful, the pretzels w/ queso compete with restaurant pretzels, the cookies and galettes are the perfect consistency, the muffins are moist, the cinnamon rolls are great, the kolaches are simple and a classic, and finally the focaccia is a must get. THE best focaccia I've ever had, with rotating flavors every week. The gentleman who works there also has weekly specials that are stellar.

If i could recommend anything for a first time visitor, it is definitely the loaves and focaccia! But you cant go wrong!

This is one of those bakeries where I literally have to sit down, close my eyes when I take a bite, and immerse myself in all of the flavors in peace and quiet. You can literally taste the love and care in all of their items, which sounds crazy, but you just have to trust me. I don't have a grandma who lives near me, so I imagine this place is what I wish a grandma could bake for me. It also really helps that they are in a great location with a beautiful outdoor area.

The best part is that because this place is so consistent Its a great recommendation for friends and family.

You guys rock, I hope the best for...

Do you ever wonder what it would be like to eat like a king? When I think of royals, I can't imagine that they grab a pack of Mrs. Baird's or Sara Lee. They have to have someone magnificent employed to make them the most decadent loaves of bread, the best of the best. The odds of us regular folks becoming royals is dreadfully slim, but THE DIVINE experience of cutting into an extraordinary loaf of bread infused with love and flavor is right here in Helotes. The bakery itself is conveniently located in Old Town Helotes, and it's just adorable. The vibes are immaculate, and there is so much love and care put into each and every corner of that place. The menu changes weekly (with some regular daily specials) and I'm not kidding when I say one of the highlights of my Monday mornings is getting the email sharing the week's menu (sign up for the newsletter, y'all). My family tends to go on Saturdays because I have to have a pretzel and we love seeing what other surprises await us! If you're looking for some immaculate bread and pastries made by some of the kindest people in town, look no further than Spread the Loaves. I'm so grateful that my girls get to grow up with the memory of going to this sweet little bakery every Saturday to get something...
