I visited The Cracked Mug Coffee House recently, and while it has a charming and cozy vibe, there were a few areas where it could improve. Atmosphere and Layout: The interior is warm and inviting, with a farmhouse-style decor that feels homely and relaxing. The small seating area, including couches and traditional tables, gives off a quaint charm. However, the space is limited, and the acoustics make it easy to overhear conversations, which can be distracting. If one person speaks loudly, it can disturb others trying to enjoy the quiet. Coffee Quality: I had high hopes for the coffee, but unfortunately, the brew lacked the freshness and depth of flavor you’d expect from a dedicated coffee shop. While the variety of drinks on the menu is appealing, the execution leaves room for improvement, especially for coffee enthusiasts. Additional Features: The shop includes a retail section with mugs, coffee beans, and other merchandise for sale. While it’s a nice touch, the overall focus should be on enhancing the quality of the coffee and the guest experience. Space for Work or Relaxation: This spot could be ideal for remote work or catching up on reading, thanks to its peaceful environment. However, the limited seating means it might not always be available or comfortable during busier hours.
Overall, The Cracked Mug Coffee House offers a pleasant atmosphere but falls short in delivering a great coffee experience. I’d recommend it for a quick stop or a quiet break if you’re in the area, but there are better options for coffee aficionados. Rating: 3/5.
Suggestions for improvement: • Focus on brewing fresh, flavorful coffee. • Consider soundproofing or spacing adjustments to minimize noise disruption. • Expand seating capacity slightly for more comfort.

Read moreI visited there on October 17, 2020. I am giving this place a solid 5 stars. I will admit I only bought a coffee and a scone, but I am rating on service and those two things along with location and ambiance.
My review: I had read the reviews. I have stopped going to the chain coffee stores a while back so I get on my Google maps and find quaint coffee stores like this one. I read the reviews. I had read they weren't wearing masks. Let me put everyone at ease....THEY ARE WEARING MASKS!!!! Thank you Cracked Mug Coffee House! It was drizzling outside, which is a rarity in the Hill Country and South Central Texas, so along with wearing masks they are also practicing social distancing...lol...only one party in the shop at a time. Which is fine, I had on a hoody, and I just pulled it up to cover my hair. I went in and was greeted. They had half and half!!! YES!!! They also had heavy whipping cream!!! Double yes!!! Then I told them that I shop small coffee houses...ya'll...this place thanked me and then told me about another local coffee house right down the road and suggested next time I am in Helotes to try them also. I mean, what business does that??? They stated it's all about helping each other out during these hard times!! And I agree!!! This place of business earned my respect!! And patronage!!!
The coffee was amazing!!! I enjoyed it!! The scone was a pumpkin scone. It was ok. Not my favorite, but I am not a huge scone person to begin with as they tend to be dry, and this one was. Nor am I am huge pumpkin fan. I will say this one was not overly pumpkin tasting. So I did like that!
Thank you Cracked Mug Coffee....you earned my business. I will try the other coffee house, per your suggestion..to help support small businesses, but you have a patron for life out of me whenever I am in...
Read moreI’ve visited The Cracked Mug Coffee house a lot last year and I’m glad I started my 2025 visiting again . I got the usual breakfast plate ( they have the best scrambled eggs I don’t have to put ketchup on them ) , bacon , potatoes , and toast . I’ve tried their seasonal drinks but really loved their specialty drink Old Town Turtle with almond milk ( caramel + butter pecan + chocolate ) . My cashier was so kind , I believe she was new because she was asking questions and the baristas were helping her . I love drinking coffee outside especially when the weather is nice
Update : I’ve noticed the times I’ve gone to visit their hospitality depends on what kind of customer you are looks wise , the food is delicious which I will give them credit for but I felt like the workers were not wanting to help at all . I ordered 4 tacos and they stacked it up in one tray and I kindly asked for another plate and the girl was confused and had a little attitude when asking and the barista saw me and looked like she didn’t want to help me . The different cashier was kind enough to give me a fork with my breakfast plate since I had to ask for one . I don’t appreciate feeling like that at a place , especially when they seem to have a writing of “Be kind to others “ on their wall . Hope next time is better with...
