Great Atmosphere (love the shop). The wine steward (girl working there - not the owners) was really accommodating & very nice. They were very busy at the time yet she was so nice and helpful.

The shop is situated amongst the old buildings in Old Town Helotes. It is tucked amongst the live oaks. It is a beautiful setting and they have outdoor seating on the front deck.I loved their fountain in the corner of the deck. The base was an old wine barrel (cut in half). Water flowed up and through a wine bottle, pouring into a wine glass which overflowed into the wine barrel. Relaxing and very cool!

I don't drink but was there to pick up some port for my father's birthday gift. By the way, I hear the port is excellent (from my parents, wine connoisseurs). My father was very happy to receive it - and he usually only drinks Italian Pinot Grigio! In fact, I am going by tomorrow to pick up some wine & a different port (for my Dad)!

The day I visited they were offering a watermelon cooler (slushee?) - not virgin! I would have tried it had I not been driving 😞 - and I don't drink! 😲 I am sure it was both delicious and refreshing, especially on that typical Texas scorching Summer day in August.

There were people inside sitting at a table enjoying a cheese & fruit tray with their wine, and more buying wines and having a tasting. Some people from out of town visited because they heard not to miss visiting Helotes Creek Winery!

Don't miss Helotes Creek Winery. Have a glass of wine (and make a purchase!). Afterwards you can shop the other interesting nearby shops before coming back again for another glass of wine (or a wine slush)...

A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Wine Country!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Dawson’s Creek Winery a charming family-owned winery that truly embodies the spirit of community and craftsmanship. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and a genuine passion for winemaking that made us feel right at home.

The winery is beautifully decorated. We were fortunate enough to have David and Melissa Stallcup and her son Davin guide us through the tasting experience. Their knowledge of the wines and the winemaking process was impressive, and their enthusiasm was infectious!

Now, let’s talk about the wines! Each sip was a delightful journey. I particularly enjoyed Amor Eterno and Houdini an so many more It’s clear that great care goes into every bottle, and the love for their craft shines through in the quality of their products.

What I appreciated most about Dawson’s Creek Winery was their commitment to sustainability and community. They source local ingredients and support other nearby businesses, which makes me feel good about supporting them.

If you’re looking for a unique and personal wine-tasting experience, I highly recommend visiting Dawson’s Creek Winery It’s not just about the wine; it’s about the stories, the people, and the passion that makes this family-owned winery truly special. I can’t wait to return and create more...

I would give Helotes Creek Winery (also known as Dawson’s Creek Winery) 10 stars if I could! I’ve been to this winery numerous times since Feb of 2023 and every experience was AMAZING. It’s a family owned business with a modern design, great atmosphere, and they offer a large selection of wine (Dry, Sweet, Dessert, Speciality, Seasonal, and Slushies). I always do the wine tasting (which includes 6 wines) because of the plethora of options. They will rotate flavors so there’s always something new to try. I highly recommend the Peach Chardonnay & Blackberry Merlot!

Also, David is an excellent host! He’s a genuine person and just the customer service alone will make you want to return.

P.S. Ignore the current owner pictures as they are not accurate and still need updated. They have completely renovated the space! Each time I visit, I take a picture in front of the angel wing greenery wall :) Attached are...

Great place to spend a cozy evening relaxing. Staff was great! Super nice people working and all the wines we had were very good! Ask to sample the Green Apple wine with the cider spice! That stuff makes a great Fall/Winter drink even if you aren't a wine drinker. We will definitely be back.
