If I could give this location zero stars I would. My family and I have tried this location a handful of times now. 2x inside the dining room and the other 3x through the drive thru. This location constantly misses the mark. This is a fairly new location and when it first opened I went in alone and was surprised to see that there are only kiosks to order food. I personally don't like this set up and really didn't like the closed kitchen as I always like to watch them make the food because of course they can be skimpy on ingredients. I was so overwhelmed I walked out and went through the drive through. I ordered a steak quesadilla and when I got home I noticed there were 3 pieces of steak.... this was the first experience and the consequential times after I was still disappointed.
Tonight 10/27 my husband and I went to a different location on Horizon and we were told that they were out of steak, at 7:30pm when they don't close until 10pm. Already annoyed and agitated I agreed to go to this location on Lake Mead although I said we would never go here again. We went through the drive thru and ordered 2 steak quesadillas. My husband asked to have jalapeños and onions added to the quesadilla and he was told no they couldn't do that but they would put it on the side. A little annoyed we pulled to the cashier and paid the $31.60. We got home to eat (we literally live 4 minutes from the location), and not only was there minimal steak in the quesadilla, the tortilla was somehow soggy.... and not even soggy almost sweaty and wet. There were no sides of onions and jalapeño. It was inedible and added annoyance as we absolutely hate this location and went here in a pinch. We did not eat the food and I really blame the drive thru option at this location. Not sure if the food sits or if the employees are just lazy and don't care.
It seems silly to even review a fast food joint but this has become such a problem in the food industry. People work hard for their money and charging $30 for 2 quesadillas isn't even worth the food we receive. It's a ripoff and I hope this...
Read moreI know this place is new and they're still getting into their rhythm. However, I placed a mobile order with a set ready time. Was there waiting and waiting, still no order. There were about 10 other customers waiting for orders as well. One gentlemen said he waited over 30 minutes. When I heard that, I decided to ask them to refund my order, which they politely did and they apologized. I think what got to me was some sort of odd 'kool-aid' cultural thing where the people in the back prepping the food sing songs about nachos and burritos and cheer like they're in a football huddle. I found it really off-putting as all these customers are waiting. It was very tone deaf. Also, lots of idle chatting among the staff in back - it seemed like social hour for some of the staff. Meanwhile, there was one employee who had the unfortunate responsibility of having to manage this crowd of people waiting for food. She could only say 'sorry' and not do much else. So, I think management needs to get their people more focused, not sing songs when they're so far behind on food production, etc. The waiting customers weren't singing songs, that's for sure! If that is a Cafe Rio corporate culture thing, this is where management goes wrong - I'll give you a comparison. In-N-Out, they're busy, long lines, etc. But they're not singing songs and chit-chatting and customers aren't annoyed because of the wait. There's a general impression there that the work is getting done efficiently. So, there is a time and a place for...
Read moreWe love Cafe Rio and have been to many different locations. We were so excited to see this location open up close by and have been to it many times since it opened. Sadly, we will drive to other locations instead because this one doesn’t provide the same standard as other locations. The last few times we were here we bought the grilled chicken salad. Each time we found we had to dig for the chicken and always found nothing more than 5-6 pieces. They even charge $1 more because it’s grilled chicken so you’d think they’d put an effort to add the chicken?! I started to mentioned it to the manager and couple of weeks ago she was polite and apologized giving me a container with chicken. This last time she pushed back and assured me they always add 3oz to every salad. I opened the container and showed her our salad had little to no chicken. She went in the back and got the smallest container of chicken for me. When we got home we wanted to test what was actually in the salad so we deconstructed it removing all the chicken we could find and found there was just 1.6oz of chicken. And the container she gave me had about 1.5oz so I only got what I paid for because I complained. I’m not going to keep complaining to get what I ordered. It’s not a fun experience and I am sure the employees don’t want to hear me much less so I wants to deal with it. It’s sad but I’ll drive further away to get better service because it’s not worth going here to be ripped off...
