Let me tell you about the worst breakfast experience I have ever had.... me and my husband usually eat here an have never had to much trouble but today was different. We both ordered the same thing... bacon platter with scrambled eggs, grits and toast. After receiving our food we realized the grits were undercooked. We asked for a new side of grits. The server at the counter asked for our entire tray to be handed back as if they were going to scrap the old grits an give us new ones on the SAME tray. While my other food on the tray gets cold. After asking what I had to give my whole tray back the lady asked did I want it separated???? I'm no professional but I have the common sense enough to know that once food leaves the kitchen it should not be returned to the kitchen and handed back to the customer. That is beyond unsanitary and after spending almost $20 for breakfast we expected fresh grits for breakfast. This will be my last time at sunrise and hopefully for future customers they receive sanitary service. Not only did we receive so called new food we recieved the same type of grits we complained about in the first place. We wanted to get a bite to eat as we were heading back to MD. I googled restaurants nearby and saw this one. We saw locals going in and out and decided to give it a try. I ordered cheese eggs, toast and sausage. My sister and granddaughter ordered grits, scrambled eggs and tomatoes. My grandson ordered a waffle and bacon. The food was mediocre and I was trying to see why people were constantly coming and going. I didn't taste any cheese in my eggs, they needed seasoning, it looked like my grandson got half a waffle, but his sister said it looked as if they ran out of batter🙄 Their eggs were tasteless as were the grits. The bacon came in a clump not separated out. The cashier asked if we were eating in and we still got carryout plates! Won't be back and I don't recommend eating here. The tile was cracked where we sat and I almost tripped. I'm glad I looked at the floor AFTER eating. I would have turned around with a quickness and ran. My bf and I wanted something different so we decided to eat here today. I ordered a french toast platter w scrambled eggs/cheese and bacon. My bf ordered a 3 cheese omelette w sausage & salsa. The menu says French toast included eggs & toast but I was charged $2 extra for the eggs once reading the receipt. In the meantime while waiting for our food my bf had to use the bathroom. The bathroom is located outside of the restaurant on the back side of the building. We heard the lady in the back yelling “I’m not going to keep opening the bathroom for folks!” On top of that the customer behind us ordered a fat back biscuit. The SAME lady yelled to the front “I’m not cooking no damn fat back today!” Like what?!? So unprofessional!! We get our food (which we ordered for dine in) and it was cold and packed in to go plates. The salsa containers were less than half way filled and cost $1.50 for 2. Didn’t taste any cheese in my eggs. The food had no taste and wasn’t seasoned. $20 wasted. Will not...
