I just want to preface this review by saying that this experience was so bad I don't plan on ever returning and honestly I hate that because this tumbleweed was one of my favorite places to sit down and eat in town.
We were greeted by the host at the door but he seemed distracted as he had to ask us multiple times if we wanted a booth or a table. I then had to help him find his pen that was right in front of him so he could mark us on the chart. Not a huge deal and he looked all of 17 so I wasn't too concerned. Kids are kids and we all have to have a first job. Little did i know this was setting the stage for the whole experience.
The real trouble started once we were seated. First a waiter came over and greeted us and asked our drinks. Then he asked another member of the wait staff if this was his section. There was some confusion apparently but he ducked out and then a waitress came up to take our drink order. She didn't know what flavors of lemonade they serve when my wife asked and never even tried to get my drink order. When my wife asked if we could get the potato skins appetizer without the bacon on them it took three times of the waitress saying "no jalapeno" and my wife repeating "no bacon" before the waitress was able to grasp what we wanted. I don't eat pork for religious reasons and the wife is actually allergic.
At that point it was pretty obvious that this was going to be a pretty bad experience overall so we just left before they had a chance to mess...
Read moreWent there in the early evening, around 3:30 to 4:30pm. It was relatively quiet. Took a minute to grt our order. The table was sticky from previous diners.
We got apricot, mild and hot salsa pretty swiftly with our chips. Drinks took a minute.
I'd say it was about a 25 minute wait until we got our food, which, I will say was super delicious. I got a baked potato and the flavor was awesome. And it was hot hot. Had to let it cool down before I could start eating. Which frustrated me.
We had finished our drink and had a little wait for a refill, wouldn't mention it if it weren't an extended wait.
Anyways, the table was still sticky from previous patrons, I guess they had regulars they were tending to because they rarely came back to see if we needed anything.
After about 10 minutes finally got my refill of a drink.
Finished eating snd was trying to grt attention of the staff for the cheque. This took about 10 - 15 minutes. Kinda wanted to go. But obviously. Didn't want to feel rude by jumping up and down. The waitress was really good though, just wasn't paying attention. Maybe qas handling to many customers. Who knows.
Atmosphere was ok, plenty of TVs to watch, there was any music so was listening to whatever was on the TV.
Definitely a more relaxed type setting, I liked it, but it just felt like a average place to eat. Yes, the food was great though.
I'd go...
Read moreThe service we got from Ron D. was great. He was attentive, concerned, and all-around pleasant. However, here's my BIG issue. I have autism as well as allergies. I'm thankful I took a couple of benadryl before coming in so that if something got messed up, it wouldn't be a huge issue. I am allergic to onions. I asked Ron for no onions. He told the kitchen this, and instead of them telling him to inform me there were onions already in the meat, they just made the burrito and sent it out. IF THERE IS A NOTE ON A DISH, YOU CAN NOT DO, YOU SHOULD LET THE SERVER KNOW! Had I not taken that benadryl beforehand, it would have been a big issue for me. But even if I had not had an allergy to them, my Autism was the main factor that messed me up with these dang onions! The onions could have been okay sensory wise had they either been fully raw or fully cooked. Instead, they were in a weird in between, which was a sensory nightmare for me. It's really crunchy on the inside and mushy around that. Almost like they put the onions into the fully cooked meat and let it just cook off the excess heat of the meat rather than sautéing them fully before adding to the meat. I'm not a picky person. Had this been explained to me prior to getting the dish, I wouldn't be writing this review at all. But since I wasn't, I'm here. Do with this info...
