I visited for the first time. I took a few bites and then noticed a hair in my food. I waited for the server to come back to the table, which seemed like it took 45 minutes to an hour. When he returned, I quietly pointed at the hair so that I didn't say anything out loud and have other customers overhear. He said he would be back. He returned and informed me that everyone on his staff wears a hair net and the hair could not have come from them. I could not understand what he was saying, but I later realized that he was saying that he would not remove the dish from the bill. He offered to bring out a new dish and I politely declined. I went to the front to pay and realized what the server was saying earlier, and nothing was removed from the bill. I pushed the issue and the employees made a phone call. They returned and said they would refund me and they opened the cash drawer and gave me $14. I originally paid with a card, but I was already halfway out the door.

Read moreI have always been impartial to El Jalisco. Of two Mexican restaurants in herrin it has always just been better than the other place. Over all the food has been decent, but their cheese dip on the bland side.
They have your typical beers in bottle. The only draft they have is Bud Lite. If you are reading this and say "I like Bud Lite"; you have poor taste in beer and should stop drinking beer.
My food tonight is what set this review up to be posted when facebook ask me if I would like to do so. Ordered a ""Monster Chimi". I thought cool, I can get a huge chimichanga. It and my vegetables were swimming in a quarter...
Read moreThe food is pretty good for the area. I have eaten here a few times and haven't been disappointed. The Jalisco special was very tasty, but I would have preferred more shrimp. I wasn't impressed with the quesadilla's, but the queso tolerable. The street tacos and beef tacquitos were solid as well. I would like to see a larger beer selection featuring craft beers 🍻 Friendly staff is a warm welcome and they seemed eager to please. Definitely will be...
