Update: 7/29 we have not received a refund or any help from Joe's in getting our money back. We have had to begin a dispute through our credit card company. I would recommend caution when paying with a card at Joe's.
Our experience: We placed an order for pick up on 7/9/21 and when my husband went to pay they told him our credit card payment didn't go through because their card reader wasn't working properly. They had him withdraw cash at their ATM to pay which cost us $6 extra in ATM fees. A few days later I was checking our credit card account and discovered that the original transaction had posted. We called Joe's to resolve it and were told to call back after 4 when a manager would be in. We called back after 4 and were told there would not be a manager in that day and to call back the next day. We did that and were told that only the cash transaction was showing on their end and we would have to call our credit card company. We did that and the credit card company requested a copy of the receipt showing we also paid in cash so my husband went to Joe's to retrieve one. At that time they had located the credit card transaction and said that they would call the credit card company to have it taken off but as far as we can tell that has not happened and the charge is still on our account. This whole ordeal has cost us twice our meal plus $6 in fees, hours of our time, and a tremendous headache trying to resolve it. As of today 7/20 the charge has not been removed from our credit card...

The other option would have been a private area in the back of the restaurant, which I’d recommend if you have a big party—and call in advance to reserve it!
The little ones in our group were entertained with Joe’s Kid’s Menu coloring sheets. We started out with a delicious bruschetta appetizer that was covered in fresh tomatoes and great for sharing. The kids snacked on an 8” cheese pizza, served with stuff breadsticks.
On to entrees. The pizza: we got deep dish. It was crispy on the outside and covered with gooey cheese and fresh tomato sauce. It’s A LOT of food, and you’ll be full by the second piece.
Sandwiches. Also big portions. The Italian sausage was the standout—one of the best items we tried. The Italian beef was pretty standard. Juicy and flavored perfectly. Don’t be afraid to swap the fries with fried green beans!
Pastas: cooked perfectly and covered with house made sauces, fettuccini or tomato. I loved the angel hair, it wasn’t too heavy and was far from bland.
The service is quick and professional and the space is comfortable for a date night or a family affairs like ours. You should check out downtown Herrin’s...
Read moreSavoring my last Joe's pizza.. With my salad that was missing their creamy Italian dressing that I love.. that I made a special trip thru herrin after working and running errands all day, only to get home, starving and ready to eat, to see my order is messed up. Following a 10 minute hold, their solution they had, after I didn't want to get back in the car and drive back to herrin to get the dressing tonight, was to pick up the dressing tomorrow,I guess bring my wilty salad with me, or at first a $2 then a $5 credit towards a new salad another time. They mess up and I have to buy a new but discounted salad to have them make it right? I wasn't even mad my little dinner here cost me $30, that's how much I appreciate their food. but I can see the appreciation isn't reciprocated back to their customers. Especially when Don, the manager I guess, scoffs at me and acting condescending, like I messed up the order.. I see on their reviews I'm not the only one..Bummer, but I won't be back. Keep your 5$ and I'll just save my money for next place.. Sidenote: I'm mad I initially felt embarrassed not tipping them for picking up my own wrong order. Very glad I didn't tip the...
