Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Herrin

Went through the drive thru 9/7/24. Ordered a #5 for my wife and a #3 (Supersonic double bacon cheeseburger) for me, $23 total. Pull out of drive thru and wife pulls out our burgers and we notice my #3 is plain as can be (just bun, 2 pieces of meat and 2 pieces of cheese). Turn around because my meal alone was $11. Pull into a stall and go up to the door and explain the situation, I was asked twice for a receipt but was never given one in the first place. They TAKE my wrong burger inside and I wait outside the door for another ~10 minutes waiting. They bring it out in a bag, I smiled and said thank you and go on my way. Get about 10 minutes away and open my burger and discover it is still plain as can be, all they did was take it in, throw a few pieces of bacon on it, warm it back up and bagged it back up (still no lettuce, tomato or condiments). Might as well have just spit in my face and sent me on my way. Normally I am very understanding with fast food, been there, done that so one mistake is understandable but to take a burger back in, throw a few pieces of bacon on it and call it good is...

Update 5/7/2025: Yesterday I was given Rachel's food and didn't notice until I got home. The Sonic worker even asked if I had the order ahead for my name. That's ok though because it was worth more than what I had ordered! Rachel probably wasn't as thrilled as I was. :D

Original review from years ago someone after the initially opened: If you want a hamburger (no cheese) then look elswhere. The employees here don't seem to understand that a burger without cheese exists in this world. The last three or four times ordered they included cheese. I don't know why this place is always so packed with how often they screw up orders and how expensive it is. Wild.

Also, I think it would be cool if this facility was kept up with its appearance. There is always so much trash on the ground. It gets worse when the grass is mowed because the mowers just run it over, whether it's plastic cups or paper bags. Not very professional on...

Update. Ive been back through the drive through a few times. Very, very slow. Wrong orders frequently. Its was a nice day so we sat at the patio. Extremely dirty. They couldn't hear at the station I was in so we moved over. No slushies. No pickle fries. Asked for ketchup and salt and a rag to clean these filthy tables and chairs. Came out. Missing a large fry, no fork for the chili cheese dog, no ketchup, salt and was told they dont have a rag. The drinks were missing either co2 or syrup... not sure which. No ine cared. Trash was too full to throw trash away. Its 6pm on a Saturday and this place looks like a ghost town. I guess we know why. So sad. Big modern facility and it looks like downtown Chicago. First review- about an hour before closing. Got our food very fast but the fries were old, weird crispy things that we burnt and black in the fries. Order wrong....
