Have been seen this restaurant on my local Instagram feed and was actually very happy to hear somebody actually beat the 6 lb burrito challenge so decided to go in not really expecting to beat the challenge but seeing how far I can go in 30 minutes. (Previously have defeated other challenges)
Sadly I guess I went on a busy day or something because I didn't really feel as if I was welcomed and giving any discussions other than what I wanted to order. I said I do not speak fluent Spanish so I was a bit lost in ordering extra water before the challenge to make it manageable. Thus I only got one drink and a refill only after I was finished (so in total 30 minutes between drinks)
House was disappointed that when given the choice of meats I was told all the things would cost the same 29.99 if I had lost which I was planning for but instead got charged $35. I'm guessing it might be a meat up charge but I'm really hoping I didn't get a charge for the water as well :0
The burrito itself was very tasty beans were nothing to write home about rice was very good I'm still iffy if that was really carne asada as the seasoning did not really enhance much and would have needed some pepper. Kind of tastes like just ground beef to me.. :(
Overall was thinking of giving it a 3 1/2 stars, but thinking about it the restaurant itself was extremely warm inside with no fans so I have to give it a lower score.
My brother will be trying the burrito itself soon and if it improves maybe one day I'll go back c:
Additional note: other patrons were complaining about there being no ice for their drinks but I was able to get ice before so I'm not sure if there is a charge for that? I really hope not.
Their food choices included the meatball soup/albundigas. Looked good from what I...
Read moreThe place has been opened for 14 months now but still has the service of the first inexperienced days. I have given the place about three chances because I had hoped it would get better as they gained more experience, but today, it made me realize it's not happening, and I'm never coming back again. I will base my experience on today's visit and not previous ones just to be fair. Pro: Place is always very clean Cons: prices are always changing, and don't post prices in the menu or in posts around restaurant. -when you need to pay your bill you're not shown your tab so you can agree or disagree and once you pay, your receipt still doesn't have a price per item. no napkins, salt and pepper and sauces on table -menudo was cold, and granos were hard -had to get up and ask for more forks because we were not given enough for the food ordered. no refill on chips -no refill on coffee -bland white chocolate milk -bland agua fresca I requested 3 kids size breakfasts which we did get( 2 small pancakes,1 bacon and 1 egg), but for the price of 12.99 each!! My family and I like to spoil ourselves and go out multiple times a week, but have never paid this insane prices. $39 just for 3 small plates without including the beverage. Overall, I paid $90 for one burrito, one small menudo, 3 kids breakfast and drinks. I don't know, sounds over...
Read moreThis place can be hard to spot at first because of its location. It is inside of a small strip mall towards the back of the parking area, which places it behind the building that faces the road ( Hisperia Rd). So it is not easy to see. Yet this place is a small gem if you like Mexican food/treats. They are set up as sort of a butcher shop because you can buy just about any meat, and also shrimp and other things, fresh, by the pound. But you can also ask for your food to be prepped there so you can eat it inside or take it home with you already cooked. They make burritos, quesabirrias, quesotacos, regular tacos, tamales, etc. And you can get them with rice and beans or salad as well. Their meats range from chicken to Chile Verde, to carnitas, birria (goat or beef), carne asada and more, They have only been open just under a month so they need traffic. They are about 3/4 mile south of Bear Valley Rd. on Hisperia Rd. If you haven't visited yet, go...
