Spring House Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Hesperia

06/09/2025 came in for a regular visit. Not too busy at around 2:00pm on a Monday as to be expected. But the service and the food here are always the best. Ordered a French Dip sandwich with A jus and fries. The sandwich was phenomenal. The meat tender, and the A just took it to a whole other level.

Update on 02/18/2025 second visit. Still like the place. The service is great, and the food is good. But I have one complaint about their cornbread. It is way too crumbly and dry.

I had been putting off coming here for a very long time. Why, I don't really know. But now that I have, there's nothing bad to say about this place. The interior might be a bit dated, but there's a train track hovering over the entire dining area, and there's a train that actually runs through it, while you're dining. Kinda of a cool feature for kids of ALL AGES. 😉

But the main reason I'm giving this place 5 stars is because of the service I received, and witnessed others receiving as well. All the waitresses are extremely welcoming, attentive, and cordial. I'm giving 2 stars for our waitress mainly, she was great and tried her best to take care of us. We tried the Spring House because it was under new owners. Well...they have a lot to learn. We ordered the prime rib dinner and the fried shrimp dinner. Both came with a soup or salad. We chose salad which consisted of lettuce, croutons, and dressing. That's it?!?! The prime rib was ordered medium. It came to us medium but cold, and I mean cold!!! We called the waitress over and told her the meat was cold, she apologized and took it back. Did they bring us a new slice of medium prime rib? NO!!! They microwaved it and brought it back. How do I know they microwaved it? Well, we now had a well-done and tough piece of prime rib. The shrimp was ok, obviously frozen but not over fried at least. The corn...at least that was hot. The best part of the meal was the baked potato and dinner rolls, but how could you mess those up. Even the water tasted funny. I think a water filter needed changing. Sorry, I won't be going back to the Spring House...

I had the pepper steak with mashed potatoes and gravy, medium rare. The steak was pretty good with the green peppers and onions but the gravy was just ok. I also ordered iced tea and it was the worst I ever had in a restaurant! It was basically water with a tiny tint of color with absolutely no tea flavor! My husband ordered an omelet with hashbrowns and it was good. We were seated in a booth and the table seemed too big for the seats so we were a little crammed. I will say the waitress was the sweetest thing and never stopped smiling. I may go back because the food was good and our friends like to go there. I would just order water or a different drink. Also, the little train, going around the ceiling, is a nice...
