I have another MUST VISIT! Check out Wilson’s Restaurant & Live Music! When I tell youuuuuuuuuuu…… their Sunday Brunch is a MUST ATTEND event! But make sure you take off work the next day. You will need it. This Black Owned Restaurant is exactly what you need in your life. And make sure you dress to impress! The food is immaculate. The environment is exactly what you and your significant other need for a date night, or even bring the girls for a GNO! My eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach!!! The owners are a married couple, and owner Mark Wilson is D9, a brother of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated. Besides brunch on Sundays, they are continuously hosting events to attract different crowds, but all with the bottom line of having a good time! #foodie #foodietoktok #alaynamarieeats #njeatspots #smallowenedbusiness #blackownedbusiness #hinellanj #southjersey #sundaybrunch #brunchtok #brunch #brunchnj #blackowned #blackownedfood #blackgirleats😋 #newjerseyfoodie #foodieee #blackownednj #wilsonsrestaurantandlivemusic #wilsonsrestaurant #jazzmusic #livemusic #southjerseyfood #southjerseyfoodie Check them out!!!!!!

Let's Discuss Our Own People Taking Advantage of Us...

First I'm going to preface this by saying that we paid over $8k for a private event here... This is what we got!

Usually I don't leave bad reviews on "our" establishments regardless of how bad the service or food was. In fact I've been here a few times at night and did not enjoy the slow and clearly understaffed kitchen, salty soup, tight quarters, too loud music, over priced food, watered down drinks, or disgusting salmon.. But I kept coming because my folks kept saying how important it is to give black owned businesses second and third chances. So much so that we decided to throw my mother-in-law a brunch birthday party today. And today is where I had enough! Lets start with the manager and ambiguity in the contract. The manager was so hard to get a hold of whenever we had questions. She told us verbally it would be unlimited sodas and water to go along with the buffet. (Tangent on the food will come later. ) We were told they would charge a ridiculous amount per slice of cake cut. We had to bring our own dessert plates and cutlery. Also the contract directly contradicts what we were told regarding drinks. The contract says "1 complimentary Mimosa per guest...; 1 ticket per guest soda, coffee, tea" Now when we got there, the seats have stains, the bathroom floor was so slippery one of the guests almost fell ( she's 70), the music was again so loud I had to ask them to turn it down, then they gave each person 1 ticket and told us each guest can only get 1 drink (Mimosa, Soda or Water) to go with a friggin buffet! And we couldn't bring our own beverages so the guests pretty much went thirsty if they didn't want to buy a drink. (the party was 4 hrs mind you) Also, last I checked complimentary meant free... so that was a blatant lie. And the guy we spoke to only smuggly said... "well the contract don't say unlimited drinks." Duh. But Barbara said it and even if we were to go by the written contract... that's at least 2 drinks. However they were completely apathetic and went about their slimy business.

Now the friggin buffet. The salmon (Atlantic Salmon) was not seasoned (just pepper) and again seemed undercooked, the waffles were obviously frozen and reheated, the homefries were dry, unseasoned and hard. How do you mess up homefries??? That's all I tried so I'm not sure how the rest of the food was. However, I'm sure it's safe to say it was trash too. I say all this to say, never the he-double hockey sticks again. DO NOT book an event here. DO NOT patronize this place. Maybe for the entertainment, but eat somewhere else! Smh. My people. My...

Wilson's Restaurant & Live Music interesting experience........

We came down to celebrate a friend's birthday. The venue was supposed to open at 5 PM for Happy Hour. We were told we had to wait 10 minutes before we would be able to come in.....okay.

Once we got in, we were seated at a group of tables right in front of the door. We were the first group of patrons that came in. We did not get any water until we were there for approximately 35 minutes. Then, about 10 minutes after that, the wait staff came and took our drink order.

At the table beside us, the patrons there had already gotten appetizers, and they were seated a good 20 minutes AFTER we had been seated. It wasn't until an hour and 15 minutes had passed that we were then given menus.

We placed our order and appetizers came out first. We didn't have the small plates or extra napkins to go with the appetizers. When the food came out, a couple of us had rice with our hibachi that was extra salty. Not a good thing when you have to consider some with dietary restrictions. You may want to consider having salt/pepper on the tables so patrons can season the food to their liking.

Three of our patrons actually spoke to one of the owners about the issue, but did not receive any true attention. It was more of a non-chalant manner that the information was received. A year later, and the service was totally different. In March 2022, everyone was attentive and took care of all patrons even with it being a full venue.

Sadly, it is suggested that you go back to basics and bring back the customer service that was highly visible in the beginning when your establishment was fairly nee. Not to mention your dress code was clearly not adhered to, unless it has been relaxed.

When a patron brings an issue to your attention, something should be done to rectify it. After discussion with the owner, the gratuity was removed. However, we expected the service to be BETTER than others, as you aim to serve US. Having supported many venues, it is saddening when WE receive subpar service from US, especially when the venue is targeted towards professional people.

For this visit, there is only one ⭐ to give. For the price we pay, we expect at least the same amount of service. Otherwise, it's...

went here last night for a pre-new years eve party. The event was supposed to start at 10pm but I arrived early. The people that worked there, stated that doors would open at 9:30. Started walking back up around 9:35 and was greeted by a line of people. They were not allowing anybody in until 9:55. Was disappointed that I had to stand in the cold along with other people who were also voicing there dissatisfaction.

My family and I were able to get in, and found a table that didnt have a reserved sign on the table. Of course, we took the table since it was unoccupied. To help take the chill off and to start the party, I went to the bar. It took about 25 mins for my order to be taken, and in the middle of waiting for a drink, I was told because I sat at the vacant table near the bar, I had to purchase a tower. ok… but that wasn't stated before and magically they put a card on the table while I was at the bar, that now said : “reserved: see bartender.” whatever, I ordered a tower.

Since I purchased a margarita tower, I needed food. The lady who delivered the tower gave us a menu for food, then left. we waited thinking she was going to come back, but never did. I seen her near the bar so I went up to her and asked politely about ordering. She directed me towards the bar. I didnt want to relive that nightmare again but I had to if i wanted food. I found an opening and waited another 15 mins trying to get attention of the bartender. The girl sitting at the bar said, “ you have to yell loud at them and act crazy for them to serve you.” I shouldnt have to do that but I did have to yell “excuse me,” a couple times to get a bartenders attention who told me a waitress will get my order. I explained, that she told me I had to come to the bar. The bartender ended up taking my order and in about 20 mins I got my food.

I ordered the oxtail grilled cheese with fries. I really liked it!

I feel like I wasted an hour trying to order food and drinks. I heard great things about this place and wanted to enjoy but the night started off rocky. Eventually, I was able to enjoy myself but I don't know if I would come back. For the money I spent that night, I wished I had a better first...
