I love Aldiās for the cheap prices and just recently started going to this location, however, I was less than thrilled with what happened there today. I took my dad, who has physical disabilities here today and while we were food shopping he found a large bag of potting soil he wanted to purchase, so we put it beneath the cart and proceeded to checkout.
The first strike was when the cashier was trying to imply I couldnāt bag my items while she was ringing them up, but instead of explaining this to me, she said āyou canāt do that I need that roomā (the free room left in the cart where I was trying to bag). Alright, no big deal, that was my mistake. What really got me though was when my dad began to take the cart where the potting soil was still sitting on the bottom and bring it toward the other cart so that he would have an easier time getting it from one cart to the other. We could tell the cashier was becoming annoyed and said we couldnāt do that because she needed the cart for the next customer and that it ācouldnāt waitā. The cashier walked over, basically took the soil and threw it underneath of the cart where our other items were, and put the cart back to the area at the end of the conveyer belt. I guess my dad wasnāt able to do it fast enough for her liking. I understand that there is a protocol to ensure things are flowing and running smoothly at Aldiās, but the bottom line is, my dad and I were rushed through the line by an impatient cashier. I would like to give her the benefit of the doubt, maybe she was having a bad day, maybe she is new to the job and still getting used to it. Either way, I feel the impatience was a little uncalled for. Itās disappointing that we left feeling this way, but what disappoints me more is that she could do this to others and they may not be as nice about it. That just makes for a bad situation for both customer and cashier.
Weāre still learning the routine of Aldiās, I know that we made some mistakes by where we were trying to bag our items and by trying to move the cart. I just think that maybe some of the staff here could work on being a little more patient and understanding of their customersā needs and situations, or maybe even just a little nicer and more willing to help those who arenāt as familiar with the routine at Aldiās. Iām very dissatisfied and I know this was a blow to my dadās...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAre multiple occasions I have experience rude cashiers. The worst of them all is when I had my eight month old baby in the cart and he was already annoyed and tired. My entire cart was filled with groceries after paying. The cashier rudely told me I need to take my baby out the cards and put him in the empty cart because she needs to take my cart. I told her Iām not taking my baby out the carts youāre gonna have to get an empty cart. She told me well I need to take the baby out I walked away with my carts and with my baby. The second situation I have experienced with a cashier is I had gotten a cart myself. I loaded my cart after paying. She told me I will have to walk outside and get my own cart. I told her Iāll do your job for you and get the empty cart that is right behind me . She said sure if you want . I had to do it because she kept loading my cart with other peoples groceries while my groceries were in the cart already ! This was around 1pm . Caucasian young woman back cashier long straight...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUPDATED AFTER ORIGINAL REVIEW. Waited for the rebuild to write this. Very good on most every category. Big carts, big aisles. Their organic brand, Simply Nature's is very good. Seafood brand is bland but inexpensive. Bring bags - they don't bag free but sell sturdy bags for 10Ā¢. Also bring a quarter for a cart because they don't have cart people so they have them locked to each other. If you forget a quarter they'll give you one from a register. For a while I've been getting vegetables that go bad fairly quickly and some are bad from the store. Look at what you are buying before you buy. Moldy fruits and vegetables in the containers. Some of the meat we and our relatives have bought here has been spoiled out of the container on the same day it was purchased. We are now only buying the frozen, boxed, and canned foods. Enough. Whisper of a new store of this type opening down the street. Can't wait. I have to mention that the people who work...
