TLDR: Great birria tacos but the pricing is deceptive and therefore it’s very likely I will not be returning.
FOOD REVIEW: Birria Tacos Me: 5/5 stars. These are really good. The consume is tasty and hearty. The tacos had ample meat and a good amount of cilantro and onion. The sauces provided were good as well. Friend: 5/5 I found it really flavorful and way better than any we’ve had so far.
Asada Tacos(my friend had these) 5/5 stars, moist good cuts of meat.
Chicken Tacos: 2/5 stars, I found them really bland and dry. Compared to the flavor that they put into the birria tacos it’s a shame they didn’t put similar effort into the chicken tacos. I will say however, that most taco places I’ve been to have bland, bone dry chicken tacos as well.
CUSTOMER SERVICE REVIEW: The employees were nice and I have no real complaints. I will say that they misunderstood me when I asked for a to go box and got a soup instead… they refunded the charge so I’m alright with this.
PRICING: Honestly this is the sole reason why this wasn’t a five star review and why I probably won’t be coming back. The listed price for the birria tacos are $10 per order(3), the chicken was like $9 and the sodas I got were $3 each(2) with a queso who’s price I forget but could not be more than $5. Added together this would roughly be $50 plus tax so about $53-54. I went to pay and my bill was like $75. I paid and when I looked over my receipt there is a fees section that includes an 18% charge for what I assume is using my card instead of cash and another fee. If the listed price reflected this I would have no problem, what I do have a problem with is a surprise surcharge for tacos… I mean come on lol. Ultimately it’s within a business’s rights to add silly fees but it’s also my right to take my...
Read moreI wish I took photos to share but the hunger was real lol. Anyways I ordered :
-carnitas tacos (greased tortillas just the way I like) nice taste. I do however wish the tacos had just a little bit more meat in them. Just a smidge. The plate comes with three tacos. One of them had the perfect ration of meat. The other too were kind of little. I do understand they’re not meant to be a monster of a taco but just a bit more meat. Still don’t miss out on these 😋
-carnitas sopes (first time ever eating sopes) these were great, everything tasted fresh. Room for improvements on the refried beans they were just a bit bland for my taste so I added some salt and my own habanero sauce at home. Would still recommend :)
Beef Empanadas (stripped beef) also first time having these. These were great. The crunchy fried outside tortilla reminds me of fair food...and I like me some fair food
Read moreI absolutely love Mexican food but this place doesn't serve Mexican food. Authentic Mexican Pico de gallo has jalapeños in it. The Pico de gallo did not have any. I ordered refried beans tacos, it's supposed to have cilantro and onions and I added lettuce (see photos). When the tacos arrived all it brought was the beans. Nothing else!! (See photo). Who serves tacos with just beans...before I ordered the tacos, I confirmed that it came with cilantro and onions just like the Barbacoa tacos (see photo) but it only came with beans. I had ordered Pico de gallo to add to the tacos and lettuce. The waitress didn't bring the lettuce until I had to ask again. Then when I asked for the cilantro and onions, she said that since I ordered Pico de gallo, they didn't add the cilantro and onions to my tacos. Ugh!! Who those that??!! My friends ordered Barbacoa which was ok, the other ordered steak tacos and they brought it plain again because we ordered Pico de gallo...what??? I would not recommend this place to anyone. Sorry. They need to fix their menu and go to Mexico to learn what authentic Mexican...
