Tio Colo — Restaurant in Hialeah

I heard form Tio Colo thanks to @JuntasyRevueltas and visited the location in Coral Way. I was in a significant need of a Cuban pizza... like seriously. First thing I noticed was the cleanliness of the place, I truly appreciate a clean site where to eat. We walked in with the intention of two pizzas... well, we walked out with a big one "to go", chocolate shakes AND bocaditos de helado (ice cream sandwich), I mean... hello!! Delicious, Amazing and a one way ticket straight to childhood!!! Great costumer service, (sorry I did not ask his name, my bad) the guy who assisted us was courteous and professional. It may seem a bit odd to go to this corner of Miami Dade to get ice cream and pizza from a warehouse, but it is well worth the drive each time I go.

The Cuban ice cream sandwiches, with their unique shortcake cookies, come in a variety of tropical and traditional flavors. They are written in Spanish but will be translated if you ask. My favorite is Guava.

This trip there was a new treat: a chocolate-dipped pistachio sandwich cake. Very yummy and not too expensive considering what would be charged in other places.

The pizza is a cheesy delight as well.

The only downside is the lack of space to enjoy your food. There are a few chairs outside, but we usually end up doing some sort of car picnic. The lower overhead seems to go into the prices, though, so...
