4 Hermanos Mexican Food — Restaurant in Hiawatha

I really liked this place. It's pretty much right off the expressway which makes it easy to access. I ordered takeout and it was ready very fast. The decor was very classy but casual. They have very good salsa and the beans and rice was very good as well. The rice was the kind that did not have the extra carrot and peas in it, which I loved that those were left out. You get a good amount of food. It does seem though like you can easily get a lot of small addition charges. I ordered a burrito combo and it had cheese sauce on it. The cheese sauce, and frankly some of the other items like the potatoes, could use some improvement on the flavor. It just seemed like there was not enough seasoning on certain parts of the dish. Overall, if the flavor could be enhanced just a bit this place would be a solid 5 stars. The restaurant smells like it's cleaned often and when they start cooking it just changes the atmosphere...

Since moving from CA, my wife and I have been in search of finding an authentic taco shop that would be close to the amazing Mexican food found in San Diego. How we have driven past this place and not stopped in before is a mystery to me. Regardless I'm glad we have found this gem. By far they have some of the best Mexican food I have ever had. We have tried many of their burritos and all of them are great. Their quesadillas aren't greasy and the rolled tacos are always cooked perfectly. All this to say, their food is great. Try it and you won't be disappointed except for the fact it took you so long to do so. Also, I want to give credit to the staff who always greets you with a smile and helps answer any questions you may have...

My family LOVES 4 Hermanos!!! We eat there multiple times a month, and we often recommend it to friends. My only issue with them is that, at the Hiawatha location, I will often ask for guacamole to be added into my burrito. I am charged extra for it, but when I get the burrito the guac will not have been added. This has happened on numerous occasions. For a while they were doing better, but recently it has been happening again. They need to do better at tracking changes to the orders to ensure they are completed as they should be. I HIGHLY recommend you give them your business- We LOVE their food, but if you customize your order you may want to double-check with them to ensure it was completed as requested. Go eat...
