Waffle House — Restaurant in Hickory

Me and my mom went in around 1230am. It was just us, the waitress, and the cook. We sat ourselves and the waitress came over and took our drink order and food order where she ended up telling us about a better deal where we could get exactly what we had just ordered plus 2 piece of toast and then just add on mine and her's waffle on the side for just an extra $1.55 or something like that a piece. She got our drinks and then told the cook not to worry she would make our order. She headed to that greasy flattop grill that makes that perfect all day diner breakfast that we all know and love so much and THREW IT DOWN!!! She whipped up our food plus the waffles in 5 minutes or less and then brought us our plates while checking our drinks which were plenty full at the time. She came back once during our meal to check on us which was all that was needed and brought us our check at that time. She got our to go container and the cook got my drink in a to go cup. The waitress struck up good conversation with us without being too talkative and knew when to leave us so we could eat while it was hot. All in all it was a great way to start our morning before work and we decided that it might be our new thing to do every other Friday morning before work. It was great and we had a better service experience then what you'd receive at a different and larger establishment. Hands down the best waffle house in the area and we'll definetly be back the Friday after next, if not...

*HORRIBLE!!!!! I literally just walked out of this waffle house without eating, 5/13/17 aprox 2:30am. The cook(Big girl with piercings) treated my fiancee and I like absolute garbage, she was extremely rude to both of us after our order had been incorrect, the only thing cooked right was the toast.. My steak was not cooked properly(ordered it rare), as it was cut into on my plate; we showed her it was well done, she tried to tell us it was cooked right(it wasnt) She was super rude, loud enough for everyone to hear, her attitude was belligerent, she used threatening body language and agressive gestures almost felt like a "I'll fight you" attitude. She tried to blame the waitress for the food being wrong, then the ticket for being wrong. I remained calm and tried to find a resolution for out order, but I have never been treated in such a downright awful manner. After she snatched our plates back from us, we asked for the check. The cook said NO, JUST GO! With a wave of her hand towards the door like we were dogs. I left hungry and in tears. Nobody that treats customers in that manner deserves to be in a customer oriented position. I had bad service before, but never this. I feel humiliated! If those cameras have audio you'd see how terribly...

We got there there was a table with a booth. But floor wasnt clean underneath the table. Since we were staying there and no one came over to help, I grab the broom and dustpan and swept the food and napkins up myself. Then we sat there for about 10 minutes, before someone offered to take our orders or even asked us what we wanted to drink. We waited long time for them to make our food. Some people even walked out(they probably got tired of waiting for their food). When they finally did, they didn't bring all the food out at once. They brought my wife and stepdaughter's food and my sausage and waffles. So by the time the rest of the food came out, my sausage patties and waffles were cold! I ate them anyway because I was hungry. By the way, did I tell you, they didnt have any clean knives? (They only gave us forks and teaspoons.) And constantly we got frustrated, cuz we couldn't get his attention to fill our coffees. But its not his fault if yall dont train him right. What's today I gave them three out of five stars. I thought that was being generous. They need some major...
