Affordable Suites Conover/Hickory — Hotel in Conover

Where do I start??? Let me say, I stayed at this location during Covid and it was being ran by the district manager and it was absolutely fabulous. Not one single thing I think I can complain about......BUT THIS TIME..was HORRIBLE, I will NEVER recommend ANYBODY to stay here...My wife and daughter and our animals check in MAY 7, 2024. We put on the reservation we had a cat and dog and again OUR DAUGHTER and we would be there awhile as we were buying a house. She charged me $632 +$87.....supposedly for the animals? Ok, cool, well the next week she charges me $607 , later that day I check my account and an additional $90 was took off. I brought it up and BEVERLY said she couldn't find it in the system, I stated I would have to dispute the charge, which being there only 1 week at this time would have flagged this business and my bank would deny any future charges....so having to stay here and keep somewhat peaceful interactions, I ate the charge. Then my daughter ordered a package and called to see if it arrived as we did not want it sitting outside the room. Beverly then proceeded to be very rude with my 14 year old daughter, stating if she doesn't live here, she shouldn't get packages and that she didn't know we had a daughter????? Again it's on the reservation and at this time, she had done seen here 1342 times outside. The next 2 months I paid $609 every week on time and dealt with a range of things with the worst being GERMAN COCKROACHS....everywhere.. outside at night time, you could see them crawling on the side walk(I HAVE VIDEOS) roaches in the laundry room, and of course in my room. They do NOT care that you spend thousands, hell the "long term" tenants, don't receive Coffee or Papertowels??? Can ya make that make sense BEVERLY?? June 29, 2024 I had a fraudulent charge. I got behind a few days but ALWAYS PAID. During the 2 week time I was behind and getting caught up. It was constant hassle from her, knocking on my door after office hours, all to find out from district manager, I should have been paying $553 a weekbut yet don't lock yourself out or her not do her job correctly with the keys so they won't work because if you knock on her door or call her, boy it's like Russian roulette with that woman, never know the mood she'll be in. I have so many things to say and problems with how this place ran. BEVERLY has issues and continues to issue MASTER KEYS to tenants even after this has been brought to light, she sends her "boy toy" David I think his name is to post letters on doors and just MONDAY Sept 9, 2024. David, not a affordable suites employee was going room to room knocking and letting himself and the exterminator in peoples rooms, Also I checked out, had all items out of room except a little food in fridge , told her we'd be back and we came back to clean up the room to help her out and what does she do??? Charge my card again for another night ??? I spent over $11,000 at that place this time and I will never ever go back as long as it's being ran like it is now. It's a freking dump, literally go to the dumpster any day after Thursday and they'll 15 bags of trash laying around the dumpster, then openly deny having bugs, another thing, they leave the laundry room door open all day and night sometimes that it's no wonder there's roaches in there, it's right beside dumpster ...the point is. YOUR CUSTOMERS MAKE YOU. You act like your are ENTITLED to act how you want to your customers without any repercussions. You'll see, someday you'll talk to the wrong one, the wrong way. It is your job to be at that hotel 9am-6pm stop leaving at 530pm everyday and then fussing at people later because they came to pay or sign and YOU Beverly wasn't there. I've watched you be so hateful to the nicest people. I have so much more to say and I'm sure by the time I'm done with ALL of the reviews I'm going to leave on this place, then they'll be a shorter version. LET ME BE CLEAR, I HAVE SO MUCH MORE TO SAY, and SHOW. I just feel like I'm just rambling because I do have and had so many...

Where do I start ....... I stayed at this hotel for a year and recently became a employee, and I promise you it was the worst idea I have ever had ..... The manager Beverly, is the most disrespectful and racist person I have ever met !!!!!!! She feels because she is the manager she do and talk to people any kind of way .... She accused people of doing things that was not true , she kicked people out for no reason , she puts people in other people's rooms while they are gone , with the people belongs still in there !!!!! she charges people debit cards for things they have not done or she can't prove that they have done, she assumes and accuses people falsely .. the second day I started working , she walked me around the property and pointed out where all the Hispanics stayed and talked very poorly about them , as we walked I waited for her to say something about other quest of race but she did not it was only Hispanics ... And to top it off the hours I have worked is not what I got paid for and when I asked to see them she got very upset , as an employee it is my right to know about my hours so for the manager to get so upset like she did is very uncalled for and unprofessional not one time did I tell her that I accused her of taking my hours I simply implied that something was wrong and she went and told her manager that we were accusing her and that is not what was said..... We can't have a manager or corporate number or anything to speak to somebody about her or our hours. She called somebody named Annette and she refused to listen to me as well .... As I was trying to explain everything to her they continuously cut me off and refused to listen to me . And as I tried to explain to her that we worked a certain day that is not on record it was completely brushed off because Beverly said we didn't work .... Beverly is very vindictive and she makes herself out to be something she is not, she's very rude disrespectful and unpleasant ... She even kicked a couple out because of what another guest told her . Not that they did anything at the hotel but because of what another guest told her ... I just don't see and understand how she is capable of running this hotel being a very disrespectful and racist person... Just because you are a manager does not mean that they are always right and everything they say...

This place is tucked behind FEDEX off fairgrove exit 128 off hwy 40. I often forget about it because of its hidden location. Do not let this little place fool you. Although they do not have all night check in or guest services for the price you would be crazy to go anywhere else. Your room has bedroom, with working kitchen, it's clean everything is in great working order. Never had a room that smells or a bad experience. Because it's off the beaten path and people assume because it's an extended stay it's not afforable. That couldnt be further from the truth. Honestly that isn't what sold me though. The lady that runs the check in desk has single handedly restored my faith in man kind. My fiance and I found ourselves needing another night and he was asleep and it was getting close to check out. He runs a ministry and we had helped a homeless man relocate and we didn't get back in ourselves till 4am. It was nearing check out and I was getting nervous as I knew I would have to go across town to the bank we use and get the money needed to re-rent the room. I walked down to the desk and explained to her the situation. She said it was no big deal we could leave our stuff in our room while we went to go get the money. 2hrs after check out time she hadn't bothered us one bit. I've been places where they are threatening to call the cops if your 15mins over check out time so you can understand I was taken back by this. Its becoming rare to find good hearted people in this world we live in nowadays. She is most certainly one of them. Don't be fooled though she isn't ignorant. So I wouldn't go trying to take her kindness for weakness. I will always take my business there and have no plans of using any other hotel in Catawba county as long as I can make it before the 6pm help...
