West End BBQ — Restaurant in Hickory

Would have been zero stars if I could. I took a bite of my burger and when I pulled it back from my face there was a long blonde hair extending from the back of my throat to the burger. Very nasty but strangely there was only one guy cooking and he had short dark colored hair. Before anyone suggests it may be my hair I'll go ahead and say you would be wrong bc I am a black man with short curly hair. I tried to give them another chance because I worked as a cook for many years. The next experience sealed it for me when I saw a baby roach crawl across my table while I was in the middle shoving a spoonful of grits in my mouth. I then panicked because I had dumped black pepper all over my grits and a baby roach isn't the easiest to spot in the mix with black pepper. If there was one baby roach crawling across the table there was definitely a colony if not multiple in there as well.I hate to give this review because they have been around my whole life and was a staple in my life for as far back as I can remember and a little over four...

It has been years since I have ate at west end. I dropped in today and got a hamburger all the way to go. The place has really ran down even more and is in desperate need of face-lift, cleaning, etc. As I was leaving from getting my sandwich I noticed their rating was 93.5 and let me say people that is bad. With experience of working in the food industry, I'm telling you that's not good. I got in my car and decided to at least taste my sandwich. Taste I did and one bite and threw the whole sandwich away. Honestly if I had closed my eyes and tasted it, I wouldn't have known what kind of sandwich it was, other than knowing the texture of a hamburger. I could really go on, but there is no need. Never again will I walk into that place. I'm surprised people are eating their with a rating that low. I should have looked closed for their sanitation rating...

I will give it a 3 only because we have gotten fod their about 4 times and most were good the only time I didnt care for it at all was a couple months ago when we went inside for breakfast one morning. Took forever to both place our order then our drinks took what seemed like 30 minutes to get and the food even longer. My husband got coffee like always and I just gt a sweet tea and I drink some of if waiting on our food and within 15 minutes of drinking it my husband can also attest that i got very nausea and was feeling very sick the rest of the time I ened up having too take all my food with me and eat it later. And after a couple hours was feeling better that was the first and only time ever I got...
