My sister and I stopped in on our way back to Houston from Stephenville in search of local honey. We stumbled upon a gem with this quaint little store and restaurant. The owners and two of their son's that were working that day were so pleasant and welcoming and a wealth of knowledge. We went in for honey and came out with so much more! We bought bread and butter squash/pickles, 2 different kinds of cinnamon rolls, chocolate chip cookies, chicken pot pie hand pies and my absolute favorite, pecan sourdough bread. I cannot express enough how amazingly delicious this bread is, I ate 3/4 of the loaf by myself! I wish I had bought more! To top off our visit, after the restaurant closed the owners and one of their friends pulled out their guitars and started to play and sing! Free live entertainment! It was perfect! If you're passing through Hico, Tx, this place is a must see! You will not be disappointed!

Two Clay Bird's is an absolute gem!! The kindest, most genuine people combined with stellar homemade food. The bread is soo good, the best you'll find anywhere near here. They have a few lunch options per week, and every one I've tried is spectacular. Highly recommend stopping by!

Great place to pick up fresh produce, a great loaf of bread, and lunch. Super nice folks. Answered my questions and helped me pick out a great bread. And very reasonable prices. Definitely a gem.

I always enjoy a visit here. Visiting Two Clay Birds is always a dun amd relaxing excursion. It is like visiting a good friend who happens to be a great cook and baker. Kevin always has something wonderful created for lunxh. Today I opted for takeout, because filled up on the fantastic Gouda Roll. I chose the Chicken and Vegetable stew served over Cheese Grits, with Squash Casserole and another fabulous Gouda Roll. The stew was cooked in a wonderful savory sauce with the perfect amount of spices and herbs. It was packed full of fresh okra, mushrooms, chicken and other vegetables. It reminded of a hearty country french stew. The okra gave it a nice southern twist. It was served on a bed of cheesy topped with wonderful tomatoes that toasted on top while in the oven. The squash casserole was wonderful side. It reminded me of my granny's casserole. I want a dozen of those rolls with the gouda cheese inside! So of you wany a nice, hearty meal, made with love and homegrown ingredients and a bit of wonderful conversation, then stop in! They have great locally grown produce and locally sourced items...

Man oh man! We stopped in there on a Saturday afternoon. I have never had a sandwich there before, only pastries and bread. I had the chicken salad pimento cheese grilled sandwich. Shared with my daughter. It may have been the best sandwich I have ever had! It was amazing. Wish I hadn’t split it. The good news is we live here and we will be back for more. Also, bought some pastries and bread. The sourdough bacon bread was amazing! And of course the pastries are always the best! I personally love the blueberry cheese kolache. The apple cinnamon roll was the best cinnamon roll ever. If you have not tried their stuff then you are missing out on one of the things the that makes Hico worth the drive! Our town is full of amazing...
