Food is what you would expect from Sonic. Pulled into a stall and pressed the red button. Someone answered, I placed my order but nothing ever come up on the screen. A lady came out and asked me what I had ordered, I confirmed and she said she did it at another stall. Handed her my card (rarely carry cash) and she took it inside and rang out my order.
Food arrived, prompt and hot.
While I was eating my lunch someone pulled into the stall next to me and pressed the button. Someone finally answered and asked if they were in the drive thru. The line for the drive thru, as I observed, was pretty long.
I believe something was/is wrong with their communication system.
Really miss their coconut cream pie shakes!!
Edit/update: Dropping a star. Went back to Sonic yesterday evening to get one of their Churro shakes. When I was at Sonic the other day for lunch, I saw it on the menu and decided I'd like to try one but needed to get back to work and the drive through had several cars waiting.
When we pulled into Sonic, there were 2 cars in stalls, a couple of cars parked in the dine in spaces and the drive through was empty.
Pulled into the drive through to the order box and waited to place our order. We ordered 2 Churro shakes. The lady on the other end didn't seem to have a clue what we were talking about. I repeated our order - "we would like 2 of your churro shakes that is on your menu please." ...silence... They responded back with that they didn't understand my order. I replied again - 'your menu lists that you have churro shakes. We would like 2, do you have them or no?" ...silence again... Then they come back with our total and asked us to pull around. We got to the window, I handed over my card, paid for our shakes, shakes handed to us and we left.
The staff at this location seem to be absolutely clueless as to what they are doing. They seem nice but corporate needs to go in and inspect and train the people working at this location and ensure that they have competent staff that can actually work the job.
I used to work at Sonic at the Kannapolis location many years ago. There were days when it wasn't smooth sailing, but at least we weren't bumbling along like this location...

Read moreI ordered a pickup order online through the Sonic app and I got there about 5 minutes later and checked in in the app to let them know which stall I was at so the employees could bring my food out to my car! While I waited 20 minutes before I finally walked inside and had to get my order myself I watched an employee come out the door and get into a car that had just pulled up making a drug deal, another employee continuously walking in and out of the restaurant on their cell phone and another employee cleaning windows! So when I finally walked inside to my order the one employee was still outside buying their drugs and the other employee was walking around on there cell phone talking while waiting on customers! And my order had been sitting under a heat lamp ready the entire time but nobody brought it out to me even though I checked in and told them what stall I was at! When the female finally gave me my order who was on her cell phone she was very rude practically threw my order in my hands and walked off without saying anything! When I got back into my car about to drive off the employee making the drug deal was finally walking backside holding something in his hands! And yes my food was cold by the time I got it because I waited outside for 20 minutes for someone to bring it to me and they were all to busy doing personal things. It would have been different if they were busy but nobody was inside and nobody was in the drive through and there was only 1 other car in a stall other than mine and the dealer and there was 4 employee in total! So the math ain't matching!!!! I will NEVER be coming back to this Sonic! Who wants cold food and to be treated like this??? Very upset and dissatisfied....
