Duke's of Highland — Restaurant in Highland Charter Township

We have been coming there for 20 years but will not go back because they make the waitress pay for the businesses problem.

I ordered Coconut chicken strips with fries, and they both came to me burnt. I was told the fryer oil needed to be changed so anything coiked that way would turn out the same way. Quickly try to think of what to order thats not deep fried i said i would have the pork chops. 20 minutes later i still have nothing to eat and my husband was finished. We tell the waitress to cancel the order. After receiving our bill the bartender came into the dinningroom and announces to the waitress infront of all the patrons (we were on the other end of the room) "You know you'll have to pay for both of those meals?" Then the waitress nods her head and the bartender says "Okay" then goes back into the bar area. I walk into the bar area to confirm what I just heard and was told yes. If the food was cooked properly in the beginning this could have been avoided. Very disappointed how they treat...

Dined here on a recent weeknight and it was disappointing.

Wife had the baked spaghetti while I had the pasta shells.

The spaghetti arrived and the first thing my wife noticed was that the interior of her spaghetti was cold. Not as in it had been sitting in the kitchen waiting to go, but cold as in somehow it wasn't microwaved properly or else the pasta hadn't been warmed enough. Come on guys, that's like Cooking 101.

My pasta shells were obviously frozen and microwaved. They were tough and tasted exactly like the frozen pasta shells I can get with a TV dinner. Yeech.

About the only good thing I can say was that the service was good but the waitress never asked us how the dinner was or I would have told them to call a real chef and serve real food instead of frozen crap. Gordon Ramsay would have a field day here with the food.

My wife and I ate her for dinner on 4/15/16. The servers were friendly, but beyond that it was a bad experience. The booths are dirty. It doesn't appear that they get wiped down at all. The floor was also filthy. I don't even want to mention what it felt like touching both the menus and the ketchup bottle; pure filth. The food was very bad too. The chili was cold and tasteless. I'm uncertain how they got the cheese to melt on top of the chili yet still managed to serve it cold. I'm guessing by using some crazy microwave. The fries tasted old - like they had been sitting around for hours. I found it odd that the waitress never questioned how the food was, why I didn't eat the chili or why we declined to take any food home. Skip this place...
