Orchid Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in Highland

The most AWFUL costumer service I have ever received. My mom invited me and my cousin with her family to this place. My cousin was the first to arrive, she told this guy with tattoos (didn’t get his name) that there will be 8 of us. He told her next time we should make reservations. Appalled because this place is not one bit of fancy type of dine in, she called me and told me what he had said but we all still meet up there. As we settled in and sat down, the same guy came to the table without greeting any of us, looked at my cousin and said “didn’t you say it was 7 of you guys” with an irritated face and walked away. We all couldn’t believe how he approached us so we decided to leave and dine at the “Dos Amigos Tortas” ( BOMB FOOD WITH GREATER SERVICE) He then called that place and told them to let us know to move our cars from the parking space in front of the restaurant. I don’t know what kind of miserable human you have be to get mad about getting business from 8 people and then want to act like you own the parking structure there. Horrible! DO BETTER AND DONT TREAT YOUR COSTUMERS...

A staff member at Loma Linda University Medical Center asked me if I liked Thai food. Having been to Thailand and sampling many of their foods my answer was “yes.” He recommended going to Orchid Thai Restaurant Cafe in Highland. So, I thought I would give this restaurant a try. I can tell you that they serve some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had here in the states. I ordered the egg rolls as an appetizer. They were flavorful, hot and crispy with a sweet and sour sauce. I then ordered a spicy Thai beef noodle soup and my wife had a dish with glass noodles with vegetables, pork and egg with a side order of rice #72. The waiter came to me and jokingly said that I was sweating from the hot, spicy soup. I told him “yes I am but I can’t stop eating it.” The food was outstanding and the service was great. We have eaten here many times and have often overlooked the lackluster service that's consistent with this restaurant. Tonight, the older woman (perhaps the owner) was down right snippy and borderline rude.

The food is usually decent, not great but consistently ok. The service is unfortunately, bad every single time we go.

I don't expect a lot, but a friendly hello is nice and I appreciate it when the server pays attention to the details as we order things and it never hurts for the person who takes your money to say thanks/be a little bit friendly. This place usually doesn't do any of that & the older women always seems to struggle to offer even the barest amount of congeniality. You can see she struggles to be borderline polite.
