3D Donut — Restaurant in Highland

Great doughnuts, great service. Every once in a while, I will get up early and go grab some doughnuts for the family. My kids love them. The problem is, for the past 5 years anytime I do this the doughnuts are greasy, smell of obviously old oil and just aren't enjoyable. Greasy and overly sweet doughnuts just don't satisfy me. I have been on the hunt for a decent doughnut shop that serves simple, old-school doughnuts without cutting corners like using grease too long or making overly sweet doughnuts to hide inferior product. It seems I have finally found a place that does this; 3D Donuts. I don't understand the name, and I honestly giggled when trying to figure out the meaning, but who cares. This place is great. I had the doughnuts a couple of times when my wife had brought some home and they peaked my interest. Today, I go in to see for myself. First, the owners and staff are super friendly and even greeted me before I was in the building. It is cash only, the only drawback, but not a big deal as there is an ATM inside. The case is stocked with fresh-looking and smelling doughnuts of all the typical varieties. The staff was fast and attentive and happy to answer any questions I had. You can expect to find all the typical doughnuts you would at any store plus a few specialties (you must try the ham, cheese and jalapeno croissant). I'm pretty stingy with my 5-star-reviews, but when a place lives up to my apparently high expectations of a solid doughnut shop despite genre of food or any aesthetics, it is a pleasant surprise and well worth the 5-star-treatment. Don't except anything other than top-notch service and good doughnuts that don't sit like a bowling ball on your stomach. I'm relieved to have found my doughnut shop and would to sincerely thank the owners of 3D Donuts for doing it right....

I just got back from this place about an hour ago and let me just tell you…. These donuts are the best. I’m not joking. I got to the place, then was greeted wonderfully and while I was browsing their donut selection, I was recommended to a donut I never even seen before by the sweetheart woman that works there and I fell in love. This place is by far the best donut shop, not just in town but way better than all those franchise shops. You gotta try their mocha or vanilla iced-blended coffee. It’s sooo good and made with care. The best parts about this place is that their customer service is delightful… makes you feel like home. The owners are doing a very very fine job with this place. I've been shopping here for 20 plus years. I gave the service 4 stars because I had to. I gave the atmosphere 4 stars because it's not special, but it is straightforward, which is great. I love the food. The donuts are quite good. As with any shop, early hours are best for quality and selection. I like to shop in the afternoon. I can get exactly what I want with no competition.
