Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Highspire

One of my favorite pastimes of hot summer afternoons is to enjoy Rita’s ice with my daughter, but that fortunately was ruined when one of the workers was extremely impolite to me and my daughter. We had only ordered three fairly simple items, but she had extreme attitude to me. When I went to pay she snatched the money out of my hands and when she gave me my change back, she nudged the tip jar. I did not place my change in because of the service, so she slammed the window and walked off. When I was given my ice cream, one of the gelatis was the wrong size. When I asked her about it she told me I was wrong so I showed her my receipt. Upon doing this she slammed the window AGAIN and hastily remade it. I asked her for her name and she told me it was Sara, but I wouldn’t doubt it if she gave me a wrong name. My daughter was upset and I am furious. My wife bought some quarts of ice and was treated so badly by the manager Sara and the employee working there it was disgusting. The manager actually told my wife that she was not welcomed at their location and that she can take her business elsewhere. I am beyond disgusted and we will never come back so Sara you have succeeded in driving us away and I will make sure that all my family and friends know never to go to the Highspire location again. I’m sure the owner Megan is happy she is losing business because of the very nasty and rude manager Sara and if you look at the other negative reviews you will see Sara come up a few times. I got to this Rita’s around 8:25-8:30 and there were about 5 groups waiting… stood in line for about 30 mins (how you can be soo slow at scooping Italian ice is beyond me 🤣) They had 2 people working at the windows and 2 people who were so worried about going home that instead of getting the line through quicker they cleaned. There was about 3 groups of 2-3 people behind me and i was up next and one of the workers goes “the people at the windows are the last we’re serving tonight”… my suggestion is to drive the extra 10 mins and go to the one in Etown. They can have 10 groups and get you some Italian ice within 10 mins and you can be back in highspire by the time this Rita’s can get one person some...
