So we called to see if they can accommodate gluten free on the food part of things. Then we drove over there. Cool looking place.. We visit many wineries and do reviews on them. We Get there and of course they have a different system. Interesting and okay with us. Order the wines and beers... Suddenly no one seems to know 'Gluten Free '. So we talk then through it. Figure their chef has an idea. The board comes out with bread on it and other 'stuff' that wasn't gluten free. They had gluten free crackers... Asked for the meat and cheese... Fruits and veggies.... No bread no gluten items. The person preparing it came out to talk to us. Still when she brought out the board... Here is all this gluten stuff on it. Bread mostly. Confronted with it she shrugged it off and walked away. How can people in the food industry be this way. If you can't do gf just say so. I will leave!!! Apparently they don't mind if their customers get sick. Now their wine was good and I ate stuff that wasn't next to the gluten items... But little pieces of the stuff were thrown all over. I will admit that at that point I should have just gotten up... Left and lost all the money I had put into being there. But I didn't. They also had a no dog sign except leashed on porch (out side). Yet they had a little dog that must have been the house dog that day by us nearly the entire time and wanted our food. Then a family with little kids came and then we had their daughter over there to get the dog's attention constantly. It was getting to be a bit much. I Love dogs and kids but it was getting to be a bit much. So we have the little girl Piece of cheese to give the dog then went up to pay. The dog followed me and was licking my legs...I had on a summer dress. Takes 2 hours for me to get sick when I eat gluten... So am waiting with fingers crossed that I don't get sick.... But we won't...
Read moreMy sister and I took a road trip last weekend. We heard from our parents to check out Sick N Twisted Brewery; they had visited a few weeks before. We are from out of state. Our parents went to the Sick N Twisted location in Deadwood, SD. My sister and I went to the other location in Hill City, SD. We were excited to try this new place our parents spoke highly of. Upon entry, the bartender acted like she was too busy to help us. 15 minutes later, another bartender came out to assist us. She was surprised we had not been helped. She proceeded to rush through our wine tasting options. It was very uncomfortable. We paid extra to sit down and drink our wine. There was different costs to stand and drink vs. sit and drink. The wine was good; hence the 2 stars. The service was disappointing. We felt very unwelcome. Both bartenders did not smile at all. This was a very different experience compared to other establishments in the area. I am the least pickiest person but after being so excited and then let down, I felt obliged to write a review. I recommend going to the Deadwood, SD location; our parents reported the service was excellent there. The date was the evening of 9/30/22. I even bought a few bottles and there still was no smile or friendliness from the bartender at the Hill City location. I'm not sure what exactly was going on but they clearly were not happy to be there or happy we were there. Hate to be a downer but this was...
Read moreStopped in about 1:30p today for some pizza and to sample the beers. There were no low tables so we had to put our little kids up on big chairs (unless we sat outside which was too hot for the kids). They had cute couches but they were taken. Initially only saw one staff member, who was on the wine side. I got in line to order pizza as my husband was trying to decide about the brews. The line didn't seem to move much and after waiting for probably 10 min I heard my daughter crying.. I left the line to find out she had fallen off the chair and hit her head. I saw the other bartender was there now and was able to get ice...as a group of 15 people walked in and took their place in line... I wasn't about to join the long line, rejoin the wine area slow line, worry about my daughters little head, and worry about another fall. We left... without acknowledement from staff beyond getting the ice. Overall, I wouldn't recommend for families with little ones, and I was surprised by the lack of staff. Might have just been that day.. not all of this situation was the breweries fault obviously, but just wanted to share...
