The small town atmosphere where everyone is on a first name basis is charming and inviting, the decor and long center tables where everyone ends up eating elbow to elbow with their neighbors and friends adds to this aesthetic as well. However, (I mean this as constructive criticism) this is the second time I've been to this restaurant for breakfast, ordering the same thing each time, and both times I've been given onions and peppers that were basically not cooked at all. The plain white onions that are being used are definitely not suitable for home fries and aren't meant to be eaten raw as they retain too much eye-watering bitterness (perhaps think about switching to sweet yellow onions instead and start cooking the peppers and onions separately from the potatoes, giving them time to caramelize before mixing everything together). In addition to uncooked onions and peppers, the eggs were a little under done both times as well and the potatoes weren't given enough time to crisp and came out a little soggy. (Giving the potatoes room to breathe on the cook surface allows the liquids to evaporate while leaving them undisturbed in a single, flat layer before flipping makes them crisp up more uniformly.) All of this taken together, plus the watery, bland coffee is ultimately why I've had to give this place a middle of the road review. On a positive note, the staff were incredibly friendly and on the watch for customers needing a refill, the prices were very reasonable, and the toast, bacon and biscuits with sausage gravy...
Read moreService was terrible. When I told the waitress we would not be returning customers she went and got the owner. He approached us with a terrible attitude!! He said “what’s the problem over here”! I told him from the moment we walked in the waitress had a terrible attitude. When I asked for extra butter she said, it’s cooked with butter already. My sandwich was suppose to have bacon on it and wasn’t on there. When I asked for it she got an attitude again. She then brought out half cooked bacon for me to put on my sandwich. Then at the end she brought the check to us and all the prices were different than what is printed on the menu. When I asked about that he said it’s more when you use a credit card. I told him she didn’t ask how I was paying and there is no sign saying prices are higher when using debit. That menu prices are menu prices. He quoted “” GET OFF MY PROPERTY “! I will not be coming back to...
