We came on a Saturday, and it took a good 45 min maybe longer, to get our food. We ordered the standard eggs, hashbrowns, toast and sausage, along with coffee. I normally like any coffee, but the coffee they where serving tasted burnt. Not sure how that could happen, because it appeared to me they where going through coffee like crazy. When our breakfast arrived, it was luke warm at best, more on the cold side. My hashbrowns didnt even look like it touched the griddle. After a long wait, we ate what was on our plate and left.
We sat on the upper deck and as we where waiting for our breakfast. On one side of us was a couple with a 10 year old girl on the other side was a table of 6. Obviously the wait staff knew the table of 6. I believe it was a manager that was going around asking if they need anything. I seriously wasn't paying attention. I just saw the manager/waitress talking to the lady. She skipped over our table went directly to the table of 6. And really loud she said, yeah.. I lied to them... we can't turn up the ac and there is nothing we can do about it. Why "lie" just telling the truth, it goes a long way.
Empathize and explain the situation, offer maybe another table?
I know for a fact, I won't be coming back. First time and last time.
I like the atmosphere of the place, however.. don't lie to your customers when you know you can't do something.. or won't do it.
I give you a 2 star for...
Read moreWe had a fantastic meal yesterday at R&K 2 Restaurant! First we ordered the fried green tomatoes and onion rings! They were so delicious, we couldn’t stop eating them!! Those two appetizers set the mood for what was to come. The server was quick and efficient, and shortly one of the best meals we’ve ordered in a while, was delivered to us. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak, and it was beautiful. It filled the whole plate, and had a generous portion of yummy cream gravy on it too. Because it filled the plate, they had another plate with his yummy mashed potatoes with cream gravy, fantastic fried okra, and as though that wasn't enough, a great salad bar was also a part of his meal. Topping it off were wonderful fluffy rolls!! Because I wasn’t as hungry as he, I had a delicious chicken salad sandwich with crispy French fries, which were some of the best I’ve ever had! When we finished, we decided to take a whole pecan pie home with us ,and oh my gosh was it fantastic!! Now I know where to get my holiday pies instead of slaving in the kitchen!! I highly recommend going to this restaurant!! I know you’ll enjoy it as...
Read moreHusband and I stopped here for the first time tonight, we’ve heard RAVE reviews on this place so we couldn’t pass up the opportunity on great food. Service at first was good/normal. Waitress told us to grab a seat, we did towards the back. She then greeted us and asked for our drinks, after she brought our drinks she then sat a table of 6 next to us. I’m guessing they were regulars or she knew them, by their conversations. Not a problem with us, at first. Hey, regulars! That’s a great sign. However, she took their drink order, brought them drinks, then asked if they needed more time with the menu. Mind you husband and I had our menus at the edge of the table a few minutes before they were seated. Now I don’t mind waiting and am a patient person, but when we are given drinks then completely ignored! That’s where my problem is. She never asked us if we were ready, needed help with anything, nothing! It was like we sat down for a cup of water and a tea and to watch everyone else eat. 🤷♀️ We both got up and left the establishment, sad? Yes! We were excited to try the new place, new to us anyway. Lone Star...
