Cool Cats Lounge — Restaurant in Hilton Head Island

Love this Place! Unfortunately did not discover until our last night in town! Will be back. I am a huge fan of dive bars and this is a great one. We wandered in while waiting for a table at the restaurant next door. What a pleasant surprise. We only got to have one drink before we were called for our reservation. The bartender was great and come to find out we had met her earlier in the week at Sea Pines where we were staying, when she found our lost phone. Met cute a cute local sitting at the end of the bar and talked alligators with him. It just had a great overall friendly Cheers vibe. Just a great chill place and my very favorite kind of bar. This would absolutely be my hangout if I lived in HH! Way to go Cool Cats! I can’t wait...

The bar atmosphere and we enjoyed besides the bartender, prices were good. The bartender was a heavier middle aged man, think he was wearing a hat. He was very rude, turned to people at the bar and said “sorry a bunch of 5 year olds just walked in” (we’re 23… lol) and was just overall very rude and just killed the vibe so much we ended up leaving. I’m a bartender and I just don’t understand treating people you’ve never met like that. We were all polite and none of us had a good experience interacting with him :/ but the female bartender was nice!

Editing after the owners reply - We did not show up at last call. It was hours before. The hours online says the bar closes at 1:30 AM and I arrived at home...

Loved this little haunt on my 2022 trip to HHI. I was told if you want a bar that’s not a touristy money trap, then this is the place. They were right! I came for my 30th birthday and just about everyone in the bar wanted to buy me a drink. Such a great vibe and great people. Wonderful conversations with both staff and patrons. I believe the bartender’s name was Doug, he was the coolest and even hung out a bit with us after his shift was over. I will never forget that night, thank you Cool Cats for an awesome...
