Beach Break Grill — Restaurant in Hilton Head Island

After driving by this place for 20 years we decided to stop in. It is a local "dive" bar. When i say local it is as local as it can get . certainly not corporate. Walking in it is a very small place, the bar was filled wit regulars. I wasnt sure if we should just walk out. So glad we stayed!!. The server could not have been more friendly and made us feel like we were regulars. I had the fish and chip special which was excellent and the price was less than would would pay for a hamburger anyplace else on the island. Wife had a salad and some kind of chicken breast plate which she said was perfect. wine and beer were a good deal. After we ate the chef came out to make sure verything was ok and to invite us back. This place is going right to the top of our list for when you want a good meal at a very fair price. Might not be for those special occasions but good when you just want to get something to eat and not get a huge meal at...

We wandered into what we thought was an upscale restaurant -- it wasn't. IT WAS BETTER! It's a cozy, very friendly local bar. Mike the Bartender welcomed us, as did several of the locals. Not much seating but the service was excellent and friendly. My son ordered the cheese burger w/ egg and bacon - he said it was the best he ever had. I had the fried shrimp plate, it was very good also. To my surprise, my 15-year old son said it had a great sense of community -- he'd never mentioned anything like that before, but he was right. Worth checking out, other fancier restaurants are too, but if you're staying in the neighborhood, the Beach Break Grill will make you feel welcome and serve...

We were told about Beach Break Grill by our captain that took us out fishing earlier in the day. When we got there it was 8:00PM and didn’t realize that they shut the kitchen down at that time. We felt really bad but they told us no problem and cooked our shark meat that we caught that day. Momma Joy fixed our shark two different ways. Half of it was blackened and the other half fried.
