I used to frequent this Starbucks quite often for over eleven years when I lived less than a mile away. It was great. But in 2018, I moved to Hanover. So the Hanover SB became my go-to. But I was to be in the area yesterday, so over 20 minutes before I would drive by, I submitted a mobile order for a hot London Fog and an iced London Fog.
When I got there, there were two hot London Fogs. After a minute or so of waiting to get someone's attention, I pointed out the mistake. The sticker label was clear - it said "Iced." It wasn't a huge mistake, really. However, I know that the baristas usually appreciate the extra time a mobile order gives for the iced London Fog because they need to let the tea cool.
The barista was seemingly annoyed that I pointed it out. She simply looked at it (never at me) and said, "okay." So, knowing that it takes some time, I went to sit down and drink my hot one.
After a while, she called out for an iced London Fog. I went up and she quickly turned around and didn't say anything. I said, "Thank you!" and stood for a second, but got no response.
I'm really not sure what I did.
Listen, there are much bigger problems in the world. She could have been having a bad day. I'm simply sharing this because...
....I've written a lot of reviews. Almost all of them are because if I were looking for a business, I would want to know the same kind of information that I'm sharing in these reviews. That usually means I leave either 1-2 stars or 4-5. I want people to know what to avoid or where they absolutely want to go. I rarely expect the business to change because of these reviews, though that would be nice. I'm sure I will get a corporate-generated response to this review telling me that if I want to, I can email in for more information. No need. Just sharing my experience for the public.
(By the way, the iced London Fog was terrible.)
I will certainly avoid this SB and hit the Shipyard one up instead...
Read moreI was picking up a few things for my family. I ordered from Dunkin’ Donuts, which is five minutes down the road from me, and I ordered from Starbucks which is 15 minutes down the road from me. I got to Dunkin and my order is ready. I get to Starbucks and I’m waiting another 15 minutes. I was late to my first appointment. This place is always behind. It always takes 20 or 30 or longer minutes to get your order. I don’t even bother anymore. You go to Dunkin in Hingham and you get your food right away. You come here and you’re gonna be sitting there 30 minutes. That’s literally the wait time it told me on the app. I just didn’t pay attention because I was in a hurry and I didn’t imagine I would be waiting 30 minutes for a cup of coffee.
I prefer the food at Starbucks rather than the Dunkin, and the soymilk, but it’s not worth the stress.
I just realized why this bothers me so much, other than the obvious insanity of waiting 30 min for a drink on your way to work.
There is a Starbucks near my job. If they start getting backed up, the app won’t let you book any more orders. That never happens at the Starbucks. If it does I’ve never seen it. I’ve waited 40 minutes for coffee here before. I won’t do it again. And it shouldn’t be allowed. There should be some kind of policy where if it starts to be more than 20 minutes you cut off orders on the app. It’s not OK to make people wait that long.
I miss the good old days when you walked into a store and you placed an order and you were the next person who’s order was going to be made. But since we are past those days, there should be some policies that prevent people waiting 30 minutes for the cup of coffee on a Friday morning.
I know I would much rather go through the drive-through at the Dunkin.
But I think one easy step would be to cut off orders on the app so people don’t sit there...
Read moreI've held out on posting a negative review because I don't want the employees to catch the brunt of it, but WHY IS THIS LOCATION SO SLOW?!? Are there not enough machines? Not enough staffing? The wait is CONSISTENTLY 20 minutes. It has been a 20 minute wait for about 6 months now. I come here once a week, usually a Saturday or Sunday, and anywhere from 10am - 2pm. This is the only walk-in location I've ever been to with this problem. @Corporate: Please fix whatever the missing element is - more machines, more staff, better pay so the baristas are incentivized. The location is convenient. The wait time is dismal. (fyi, we're at 24 minutes so far and still no hot chocolate or frapp - neither with special...
