The restaurant was VERY tiny inside, but clean. And the staff were friendly, but not at all chatty. Seating at a bar seemed to have been an after thought, and customers couldn't walk past each other in the "aisle way". Our first sign about the value should have been when the cook reassured us that the burgers were indeed double patties and showed us that he was putting two patties on the bun. What he failed to mention was the patties were so thin that after cooking they kind of looked like two dark brown pieces of lace on the bun...with a half slice of cheese between them. The sandwiches were so small that five double cheeseburgers, dressed (which costs extra) and four orders of fries fit into a bag about the sized of a standard brown paper lunch bag. The fries were only available in one size, and came in a paper bag that was less than half filled. The ketchup packets, and a packet of salt, were inside the bag...hot and covered in grease. I laid my half bag of fries on the dash of my vehicle, and had to wash my dash later to get all of the oily residue off of it. The taste and texture of the fries were nothing special...if I had to guess, I would assume they were house brand crinkle cut fries from the local big box grocery store...without enough salt. And did I mention the ketchup packets were hot? The burgers were absolutely delicious. They tasted like really good White Castle cheeseburgers. The problem was that they were so small. The cost for my wife, my two sons, and myself to eat was right at $75.00, and sadly, we were all still hungry after we ate. We literally sat in our vehicle and debated if we should put in another full order, but decided we would just get something somewhere else because of the cost. I don't mind spending almost $20.00 per person for good food...but even at today's prices, I expect to not still be hungry afterwards. And I am not exaggerating...my heart sank when I took the bag from the young lady that served us, and stood there waiting for the rest, when she said "That is everything...it is all in that bag". I wish I had taken a picture of the bag, but didn't think of it at the time. We drove all the way from the Louisville Kentucky area, to try these burgers because they are on the list "The 5 best burgers...in Kentucky" that was in Kentucky Living magazine. The burgers were really good, but I will never eat there again because of the cost to food ratio being so low, it would have literally cost me $150.00 for the four of us to be close to full. If you want a delicious White Castle style burger, Laha's has it. If you are feeding a family, be prepared for sticker shock! My boys are almost men now...in a few more years, I may need to stop at my bank to apply for a loan to feed them at Laha's. I wish the owners of Laha's well. And like I said, if you want a good tasting double cheeseburger, they have it! Just be prepared to pay for it. In conclusion, awesome cheeseburgers, below average fries and really low value...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife and I have eaten hamburgers from all over the place. In and Out was our main stay since forever in the fully dressed variety. I make a custom smoked burger with fresh tomatoes, lettuce and pickles thats very good. Ravens Seasonings make it great. Yet being curious and always willing to expand our burger quest we tried this place out and wow !!!!!!!!!
If I were to title this piece it would read , " When a burger has to be good enough to just have pepper ,grilled onions and cheese. " It has to stand on taste alone and folks thats a hard task to master. So much so that almost every burger comes with all sorts of stuff. Yet this burger is cooked in the old smashed burger tradition and the meat and onions alone will fully smother your tastebuds in pure burger joy.
So the only word I can use in describing this burger is magic. Its beyond logic and its bewitching quality comes from something Kentucky, something about an old 1934 recipe and stove. Its simple and yet its so beautiful. Just try it and see why it was voted the best burger in Kentucky in 2017. Forget about the hows and whys when you sit down to partake, you wont be disappointed . Its a refreshing drive through the countryside and Kentucky small towns are really whats still good in America. The people are genuine, kind and possess the country wisdom that made this nation great. This burger was...

Inside is what I would consider a nostalgic dinerāa counter with approx 15 barstools. There is non-stop action at the walk-up window and behind the counter as employees quickly try to serve the patrons. On this day there was about a 20 minute wait for food due to the amount of customers. But the wait is worth the experience. We sat at the diner and had the most wonderful person waiting on us. These are small town people with big personalities and big hearts. My husband said the burgers were wonderful, my granddaughter loved the hot dogs. I was looking forward to the onion rings as small diner onion rings are usually the best. But our waitress said due to supply shortages across the nation, they havenāt been able to serve onion rings in awhile. French fries sufficed. They buy their meat fresh every morning and patty them out by hand, and grill them right behind the diner non-stop while we were there. You can buy bottled drinks as there are no fountain drinks. Pricing is very reasonable. If you canāt find parking on the square, drive around to the back of the building and turn right into a...
