Haley's Ice Cream Store — Restaurant in Holden Beach

Just left the ice cream shop and was extremely disappointed. Forget that they were out of chocolate, vanilla and several other basic flavors. First is the layout. Poorly done in the extreme! People on top of one another. People exiting were expected to cross back through the loooong line to use a separate door and absolutely no one was complying. Nowhere was there a list of flavors to help expedite one’s purchase. Only two young people working with an average of far more than 20 people inside at a time. My cone was handed to me without a napkin or any type of wrap. Did not see anyone sanitize after handling money. The identifying labels for the ice cream were, for the most part, illegible Next time I get a craving for ice cream, I will go to the general store next door and take it home. Probably should have done that...

My family and I are native to holden beach. We arrived at this location at 8:20 p.m. there was a family of five in front of us...two of them ordered milkshakes. My family consist of a 7 year old and a 11 year old. My husband and I also brought in our 3 month old with us for a family night of ice cream after dinner. When it was our turn My husband and I ordered milkshakes and we were told that they are no longer serving milkshakes....reminder the family in front of us ordered milkshakes. We got our kids two scoops of mint and cotton candy and left. I'm not sure why they said they were not serving milkshakes anymore. We won't...

Haley's Ice Cream is located behind the swimsuit boutique with entrance right off the beach. They offer a large selection of Hershey's ice creams by the scoop, in cones (cake, sugar, or waffle), in shakes, or in sundaes.

When we were there, there only appeared to be one person working, so service was a bit slow though he was working incredibly hard. The ice cream was standard fare, and the inside seating was unremarkable. However outside seating was available in the form of stools at a bar facing the ocean. That's a really great way to enjoy ice cream!
