Called in for a takeout order, was promptly asked to hold, waited 10 minutes on the phone and the same gal re-answered the phone and was surpised I was still on the line. I had ordered the Chicken Flautas for lunch, it was my first time ordering from this particular location. I went to pick up my order and waited in a seemingly empty restaraunt with quite a few employees sitting around folding silverware into napkins and/or chatting with coworkers and playing cards, I waited another 10-15 minutes, nobody came to help me until I stared pacing around impatiently. Finally a gentleman from the back of the restaraunt noticed me and slowly made his way up to the counter to see if I needed help. I paid for my meal and left a generous tip hoping for the best based on others reviews. This is some of the most domesticated mexican food I have ever had in my life, every person posting raving reviews of this place hates spice, hates flavor, and hates authenticity. My dutch grandmother made more flavorful Flautas, unfortunate considering I had high hopes. My first ever experience was likely my last, if you like basic this is your go to, otherwise I advise...
Read moreI'll start by saying that if you are a member of AARP, you will enjoy this place. I was the youngest diner here by at least 20 years.
I ordered the wet pork burrito. The first bite of pork was promising! But alas, one good singer cannot carry the choir. The food lacked any sort of spice, the flavorful pork was coated in a red sauce that had less charm than ketchup, and to top the burrito was a smothering of cheddar that wanted to aspire to be Velveeta. This was a choir that sang one note for an entire concert: disappointment.
I die a little bit inside when the best ingestible at a Mexican restaurant is the lime Jarritos.
This restaurant might cater to the local demographic: old, white, and tasteless.
The positive I have to say is that the staff is friendly and will greet you with a smile, and there's a special charm to the place. However, I do not dine for the people, but rather for the vittles and libations they offer. It saddens me to say that Margarita's does not live up to it's tagline: "The home of fine Mexican cuisine." I can get finer Mexican cuisine from Taco Bell for a quarter...
Read moreYou know the small town breakfast restaurants where local people go to eat, hang out and enjoy long conversations?
Same vibe when coming here. It definitely brings a crowd of locals. I observed others comfortable and at ease. No one was in a rush to eat and go. People brought their families and enjoyed conversations and food. It was a hole in the wall restaurant.
It was nice to see this. And it definitely gave me a small town restaurant vibe.
Customer service was amazing! Food took some time, but it was busy and waitress kept you updated.
Chips and salsa was okay. I really enjoyed the Mexican rice and guacamole was fresh and full of flavor.
We had fajitas and it was seasoned well. We also tried the tamales. They were good, not spicy. The menu does not have a lot of options but it's a small restaurant and to each their own.
I would go back and try other items off the menu if I was around again.
I rated this higher because of customer service and food had flavor and came out...
