Taste Of Italy — Restaurant in Holly Springs

We stopped in thinking this was a second location to the Taste of Italy located on Hwy 92 in Woodstock. Apparently once upon a time they were the same, but have been under different ownership for 16 years. Anyway, enough storytime, onto the food.

We ordered a large Caesar salad and margherita pizza to share. Both were average at best. The salad was the most basic Caesar salad on the planet. Big pieces of romaine, hardly sprinkled with a dash of Kraft Parmesan cheese, and very dainty croutons. The pizza dough was good-ish, but hardly any toppings on it. Luckily I had some Caesar dressing left to add some flavor. The red pepper flakes were definitely past their prime. Rubbery and plastic like. Maybe they were a prop from the Barbie movie? If I came back, I would not get the margherita pizza. It looks good in the picture, however, the taste wasn't nearly what it seems. But in all honesty I probably won't be back. i’m not sure what they have going on in there, but the last 2 times i’ve ordered from here have made me painfully ill(and yes, it was the only thing i’d eaten that day on both occasions so i know for a fact it was this food.) the first time, i got regular alfredo with tea. tonight being the second time, i got the chicken alfredo with tea and cheesecake(frozen upon delivery by the way, so it’s not even fresh. had to wait for it to defrost.) within the hour of each time on these days i’ve eaten this food, i am either A) puking or B) stuck in the bathroom for the opposite reason, if you know what i mean. sometimes both at the same time. this will continue for a full day or so and then i’m fine but i will no longer be ordering from here seeing as it’s likely something in the kitchen is stored improperly and/or unclean....

We ordered 2 pizzas tonight and spent $40. My husband went in to pickup our order and they were running behind and it was crowded inside. Our 3 yr old son was with him and had a meltdown because it was taking a long time..my husband put the 2 pizzas on top of the car and drove off and one pizza fell on the ground he was able to save the other. We told them what happened and asked if they could help since we lost a whole pizza and they said no! It would have been nice if they could of at least offered a discount to get another since we had already spent so much money. That is just bad customer service!
