âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸ 4 Stars â Over-the-Top Shaved Ice & Giant Sweet Treats!
Summer Love Ice House delivers next-level shaved ice with insane portions and creative flavors. The inside is cozy and Instagram-cute with pastel walls and neon signs - perfect for cooling off from Hollywood's heat. While there's no outdoor seating, the AC and cheerful decor make it a great hangout spot.
The real star here is the sheer size of their creations - these aren't your average snow cones! My Tropical Mango Splash (with real fruit chunks) was practically a meal itself - definitely shareable unless you have a legendary sweet tooth. At $12-15 per bowl, the prices seem high at first, but you're really getting two or three servings worth of dessert.
What sets them apart: đ Premium fruit toppings (fresh mango, strawberry, kiwi) 𼼠Creative mix-ins like mochi, condensed milk, and coconut flakes đ Vegan/dairy-free options that don't skimp on flavor
Small gripes: Can get pricey if you're not splitting Limited seating when busy Some flavors are almost too sweet
Perfect for: Group treats, post-beach cooling off, or when you need an epic sugar rush. Pro tip: I hear they have a "secret menu" that has even wilder creations - just ask! Will be back to try their Special next time. âď¸â¨
đą Self-Serve Kiosks: Smooth & High-Tech Ordering
One of the coolest features at Summer Love Ice House is their self-serve kiosk systemâno long lines or shouting orders over the counter! The touchscreen menus are super intuitive, with high-res photos of MOST items and clear allergen/dietary labels (vegan, nut-free, etc.). You can customize your shaved ice to obsessive levelsâextra toppings, drizzle options, even ice texture preferencesâall without holding...
Read moreUpdated review: they have made some changes, most of which I donât like BUT the flavor and quality are still there! HIGHLY recommend the matcha, mango and coconut flavors with the addition of red beans, pudding and boba. The changes to the ordering process (now on a screen) make the process seem less personable and the ordering is very confusing. Each shave ice will come with different standard toppings and ones you can pay to add on- very confusing as to what each bowl comes with and doesnât etc. The store also looks like itâs closed down- 4 TV monitors are turned off and bakery case empty without any employees present to greet you and answer questions, you have to flag them down when they emerge from the back with someoneâs order. Again, I am happy that the flavors are still really good and taste like high-quality and not over sugared and processed but the ordering experience and atmosphere could use a lot of work. I also wish they still served the bowls with a small cup of hot tea like they used to.
Original review: Adorable spot with attention to detail. Each flavor is curated perfectly. We got the coconut & mango shaved ice and loved that each had different fillings and toppings that complimented the respective flavors. It is served with a little hot tea as well. Definitely a...
Read moreWe saw them on insta an ran to get ourselves some shaved ice. The prices are reasonable, specially when you see how beautiful everything is presented. One is good enough to share but if you are feeling courageous get yourself your own. We tried the Taro and Mango ones and they were delicious! Also, LOVED that all plates and spoons are ceramic, so no waist! We will be back for sure đ¨
UPDATE- We went back.. around ten times this past year..and this last week was underwhelming. When we walked in the energy was completely different. Tv menus were off, it was a little warm inside and we placed our order on the new screen. After 15 minutes of waiting we had to remind the person working (that was looking at her phone) of our order even tho we were the only customers in the store. When we finally got our shaved ice, it was disappointing. The texture of the shaved ice changed and the attention to detail that this place won me over, was gone. Also the warm tea is not in your order anymore, you have to serve yourself in âŚplastic cups..?!? What happened to this place?!? (Added a picture...
