Thai Star BBQ — Restaurant in Home Gardens

I called ahead for takeout on my way home. Because it was my first time ordering from here I asked if the portions were large. The girl said "No, just enough for one person" which made me think I that one order wouldn't be enough, like it usually is from other places, for my husband and I to share. I don't know if she purposefully misled me, but she was very wrong. I ordered two orders of "Chicken Drunken Noodles" ie pad kee mao, and both takeout boxes were full to the brim, and it was more than enough food for just one person. I ordered one medium spicy and another spicy. The medium spicy was perfect for me, and I am sorry to say I did not try to spicy but it looked spicy. The dish was full of flavor, and really was delicious, however, it was very much lacking in chicken. It had maybe 5 small pieces throughout the dish. On Saturday morning about 11:15 AM I ordered 2 ea papaya salads (som tum) one medium and one hot spicy to go. After getting home I found that both were medium spicy. One not as ordered. The amount of shredded papaya would fit in the small of your hand for each order. Both had a large slice cabbage. One had two shrimp and the other had only one. They both tasted really good but both were small in volume. This was not the experience I had before with this restaurant. As I said they tasted really good but was not worth the price. Disappointing at best. I paid $17 for beef Thai red curry ($13) with rice ($3) and nearly every part of this experience was underwhelming.

The amount of curry is barely enough for one portion, especially since plain Jasmine rice is an extra charge.

The flavor of the Thai curry itself was not great - lacking saltiness/sweetness and missing a certain depth you expect from the dish.

Save your time and money and go to TK Thai Cuisine up the street instead. Portions are larger and rice is included in the meal.
