Possibly the worst breakfast I’ve had in Homer. Everything was devoid of flavor in a way that was almost impressive, and everyone’s eggs were overcooked and brown. Being a cook that can’t even manage cooking eggs properly, again is almost impressive. The pastries too were poorly made, overcooked and crunchy where they should have been fluffy and soft. And it’s funny to see the owner opening additional locations around town, instead of trying to improve upon their existing location, which tells you a lot about the owner’s priorities. It’s not even good enough to warrant one location quite frankly, but alrighty then. There are far too many great breakfast/brunch places in town to be wasting your money on this wildy mediocre food. And don’t believe their rating either, if you look up restaurants in Homer they ALL have 4 stars and over, literally, other than McDonald’s. People in this town are worried about the consequences of leaving a bad review, so they all blow smoke and give easy other high ratings, regardless of how little they’re deserved. If this place was in any other town or city, it’d have a 3 star rating at absolute best, probably out of business in a matter of months. But not in Homer, mediocrity reigns...
Read moreIt’s very apparent that the folks here have no experience in donut making prior to this bakery. We tried several different items and were less than impressed. Consistency is lacking, and the texture is always off, either too doughy, too crunchy, overcooked, etc. We desperately needed a good donut shop here, so it’s unfortunate. And compared to our other bakeries here, it’s just not making the cut. Donuts are tricky, so it’s an interesting choice to open a donut shop when you’re not super capable of making good donuts, with all due. I’d stick with 2 Sisters or Wild Honey Bistro if you want a sweet treat that doesn’t disappoint. I also think it’s odd to respond to every review with a novel of a response, and being argumentative with people who don’t give you five stars. It’s not exactly a good look. Sorry for the honest review, I’m sure you’ll respond with a massive paragraph, but that won’t be necessary because I’ll never see it, as is generally the case with these things. No one is coming back to their review to see if you responded to them, but all of your potential customers do see that when they look you up on...
Read moreWe have very mixed feelings about this bakery. I’ll start with the good: the coffee is surprisingly not bad and the place itself is very cute. Barista is friendly and the young blonde lady at the register is very sweet. For the bad: the food menu is not easily viewable so you might end up ordering a bakery item as your meal not knowing they have a full breakfast menu. The lady with glasses in the front was a bit rude to us when we kindly mentioned the menu. The cook in the back wearing a bandana was INCREDIBLY IMPOLITE when they messed up our food order then brought it out twice by accident. She made us all very uncomfortable (group of 8) and we all just had to laugh it off. Finally, although the coffee is good, some training on how to make a Cortado correctly might be good for the coffee gurus that come in. I was given an espresso with a splash of milk and charged for a cortado (espresso with 2 ounces of...
