I understand it was Mother’s Day which is a very busy brunch day but we waited over 2 hours for our food.
I want to say that every employee we spoke to was very friendly and helpful. It seemed as though the restaurant, specifically the kitchen, was severely understaffed and underprepared.
the wait time for a table was 2 hours & 30 minutes no one pre bussed our table during the 3+ hours we were seated drinks were somewhat prompt but two people’s drinks were forgotten and it took almost 40 minutes to get them we asked for water when we initially ordered and it took roughly 45 minutes to get it. One person did not get a water at all. the food was good but our starters came out with the rest of the food and it took over 2 hours to get it. bathrooms were very messy I did not see anyone pre-bussing tables, making it difficult to turn tables quickly and also just generally unpleasant for the guests.
Our server was friendly but she was clearly overwhelmed. these issues were not her fault, especially considering that she is new and working an extremely busy shift.
The overall impression that I got was that the management of this restaurant is clearly lacking. The restaurant was understaffed and there was no management present. When the wait time for food hit 45+ minutes a manager should have came out and talked to the six tables all waiting and supported the wait staff. (We were outside, I don’t know what the wait time was like inside the restaurant).
I understand that Mother’s Day is an extremely busy day but management should have prepared for that and had enough support for their kitchen and their staff.
Some positive things I want to highlight: excellent cocktail options with a decent mocktail menu very friendly and hard working wait staff fried green tomatoes were very good patio seating was comfortable and not too loud (the inside of the restaurant was very loud so this...
Read moreI met a friend to grab breakfast and catch up before she got on the road. Normally Ruby Sunshine is a great option, however, they fell very short today. Our server, Tina, was okay. She did have a gentleman that she was training, but it appeared she mainly had him assisting with carrying plates instead of allowing him to get hands on experience while being available to coach him if needed. This did not affect my review because I am unfamiliar with their training practices. It could have been his very first shift.
We ordered the following:
Water Boozy Coffee - This was good and not overly sweet. Lavendar Paloma - Very sweet. My friend sent back and ordered the blueberry lavendar mimosa which she much preferred.
Beignets - My friend didn't seem to be to thrilled with them. I did not eat any. Fried green tomatoes - Over cooked. Should have sent back. Shrimp and grits - My friend was happy and stated she would order them again. Side of potatoes - Horrible. They appeared very dark, hard, dry. We sent them back. Tina commented "I don't know. They've looked like that all morning." My issue was you delivered food you knew wasn't on par with the establishment you work for nor would you have eaten them personally. Migas - Typically very good. Was far from enjoyable this go around. Lacked flavor, barely any eggs or chorizo. The meal was mainly a bed of tortilla strips.
Not happy with our experience. Would have sent my entire order with an exception of my boozy coffee and water back if I knew my friend wouldn't have been uncomfortable from the moment I did so until we left. I was extremely happy to see her and catch up so I suppose me not messing up the vibe was a little worth it... would have rather went somewhere else and been happy with my service, food, experience. Especially with the amount that was spent. Time didn't afford us that option with her having to...
Read moreNot large party friendly. Visited for the first time on Sunday during a friend reunion over the weekend. We reserved on the app but it wouldn't allow us to reserve for our full party and weirdly all had to be present in order to be seated. Terrible parking scenario. It was busy and we were fine sitting on the shaded patio even despite the breezy weather so we could sit together. No one else was on the patio due to the chilly weather. There was a huge issue with the amount of people we had due to the 9 of us. They have a weird policy of not allowing the moving of tables to allow more than 4 people to sit together. So we had to sit at 2 separate tables right next to each other, even though there were not other people on the patio with us. Really bad customer service when it's a restaurant and the tables were very easily movable and literally right next to each other anyway. None of the hostesses nor the waitress cared that we wanted to be together. VERY bad policy and not customer friendly AT ALL. Food was below average and extremely overpriced. I got the sausage/biscuits. Tasteless, sausage had a weird rubbery texture and my scrambled eggs were greasy and tasteless. The best thing we ate were the beignets and they were very average. I could have overlooked the bad food had I at least gotten to visit with my friends. We ended up just playing musical chairs and visiting anyway, since we couldn't break the rule of moving the light metal outdoor table to actually see each other for the entire meal. Sadly, it was a bad experience and I will spend my money at Cracker Barrel next time for real good food, southern friendly staff and a table large enough to...
