Got here on a Tuesday at about 12:30 in Navy camouflage, it wasnt too busy. The staff was super nice and let me try the mochiko chicken when I asked what it was and it was fantastic. I was not ready for a lightly sweet fried chicken at all. I opted for the regular sized spicy mochiko which was not too spicy, but there was a noticeable bite to it and the sweetness was still there. They gave me what was equal to one and a half large breasts and 2 small legs, 2 large scoops of rice, a few pods of edamame, and one scoop of macaroni salad, which they gave me a separate paper tray because mac salad is way better cold :) The rice was plain, but cooked well and the macaroni salad was maybe a touch saltier than I'm used to but still delicious. all for under $10, i'm saving half of it for lunch tomorrow and will definitely go...
Read moreWhenever my co-workers plan a lunch, I always recommend Lunch Box Kitchen! This place is busy during lunch. I recommend calling in your order as soon as they open. This is truly a locally owned business. You can see right into the kitchen at the hard working staff making tons of take out orders. (It’s take-out only).
They claim to have the best Mochiko Chicken and, although I don’t consider their chicken to be typical mochiko style, the chicken is darn good! And their mac salad could give Zippys a run for their money!
Easy access right off the freeway, in Sand Island. Cash only. I’ve never had a hard time finding parking as people are often there to pick and go. Portions for the mini are mini, so trust me and spend a few more bucks for the “regular” that is more than enough for the...
Read moreThis place was highly recommended from a friend of mines so I was very anxious to give this place a try. I ordered bento G which came with 2 scoops of white rice, a huge piece of mochicko chicken (which they’re known for) and they cut up in slices, and a few pieces of edamame.
The mochicko chicken is by far the best chicken I ever had. It’s tender and juicy and so full of flavor. The best part is that you can choose either spicy or mild and it’s fried to perfection.
I also ordered a loco moco. I’ve been on a hunt for the best loco moco here on oahu, and theirs is top-notch! I love that it’s made with a homemade patty. I ordered it with an over easy egg which was also cooked perfectly, where the yolk runs over. Their gravy is light brown and very tasty.
I highly...
