Matsuzaka-Tei — Restaurant in Honolulu

Went to pick up lunch for myself and coworkers. One of my coworkers ordered all the food from Door Dash app to be picked up but NOT delivered (everybody knows you can do this)

I guess the guy working was maybe the owner. Nasty attitude! He wouldn’t give me the food and I bought EXTRA food on top of it supporting his business. He only gave me the food I paid for at the register. So when I called my coworker back (the guy who ORDERED the food and NAME IS ON THE ORDER). The owner started to get aggressive me. Pointing his DIRTY finger in my face, ignoring my coworker telling him he will send confirmation of the order to me. So he takes the food and put it back. I then told him I’m not leaving till we get our food we all paid for. He then threw all the food at me and we got into a Shouting match. Told me not to come back. TRUST ME….I’m not coming back anyways because not only was his attitude NASTY. The food wasn’t even all that great. My beef was cold and so were my Gyozas.

See if the owner wasn’t so RUDE and actually listened to the people who ordered his food he wouldn’t get this review. Didn’t even finish this bowl. Wasted my money and everyone...

The best gyudon you'll find on the island. I've been to numerous restaurants and none really compare to the gyudon here. The simmered beef is perfect, sauce is nice and savory not too sweet or salty. Ontama always runny and gooey even when I pick it up and bike it to work. I always have to get the mini takoyaki beef rice bowl and add 2 ontama egg, the combo and amount is just too good. The staff is also very friendly and the service is great. They have other offerings too like udon and curry, I've only ever tried the curry and even that was really good. It's definitely homemade and not your typical S&B lol.

Definitely give this place a try if you're hankering for...

Meh it was so so… bowls have nothing special and the flavor is basic. The bowls are so small for the mini and the contents are even smaller for the manager special. It’s so expensive for almost $10 for a mini is pricey af!! And the beef bowl manager special doesn’t even form any special from their other beef bowls, I thought it’d cheaper since it’s a special and also the fact that it’s located in Kalihi and hard to find place. Not worth it, the price, the amount of food they give you is so small and the flavor and taste of it is just basic and regular beef that you can get for cheap at other restaurants like...
