This was just a quick pit stop before closing time. And it showed. The attention to detail lacked somewhat. Whilst I got seated fast and had a chance to chat to other patrons I also had to wait for my order to be taken. I've read much about the crab Benedict and the other patrons also recommended that menu item. I wanted to test the enthusiasm. There was a short wait for the food and I was little disappointed. The poached eggs were overcooked and the hollandaise sauce was in short supply. I am unsure whether this was due to the time of my arrival, maybe the chef wanted to go home, and they had to clean the kitchen, but to me this just demonstrated a lack of attention to detail. The servers offered to bring me more eggs but I declined the offer. The taste was ok but due to the limited amount of hollandaise sauce and the hard yolk the Benedict was dry. I was hungry and ate it, paid and left with a scone to boot. I presume the scone was a peace offering as I haven't seen anyone else with a parting gift.

Food (10/10), Service (5/10), Value (4/10), Hidden Fee (1/10), Transparency (0/10). The food was excellent and exceeded expectations, but the excitement ended there! Service was average, not memorable. The deal-breaker and biggest disappointment was the "hidden fee" of 4%, which was automatically added to the check for "restaurant service". It's the principal which was upsetting, and the lack of transparency. A non-negotiable fee of 4% is no longer a tip IMO, but an added cost of the food, which should be reflected in the price of the food on the menu to make it obvious, not secretly added as a fee. The arrogance of sneaking in a fee of 4% and then making tipping suggestions on the check for up to 30% is unethical and a violation of trust. Maybe many customers don't realize the tipping scheme, but that doesn't make it right. Please do the right thing and conform to a more traditional tipping approach, it has worked for generations and will help you develop a more loyal customer base. Trust your customers and let them have a voice, they will do the right thing for the restaurant and its staff.

No sign out front (I think they were doing modifications and will put one up), but clean and adorable place inside. You sign in and they will seat you. Kento came out to greet us with a big smile and could not have been friendlier and more welcoming. He seated us and Hana was our server. She is another extremely sweet and friendly young lady and makes you feel at home. Our food…yum! My husband had the eggs and rice and it was cooked perfectly and nice flavor. My pancake one the other hand…incredible! I asked for the lilikoi curd and cream cheese topping on the side since I knew I wouldn’t eat it all. They call it a short stack, but it was an enormous pancake with a delightful texture. The toppings were fresh made and amazing. If you need to use the rest room, you have to go outside and a few doors down and go upstairs. I guess it’s a shared restroom for the shops in the strip mall. Fantastic find for a place to eat and support locals!

EXTRAORDINARY food! I went with Charlie and Carla from Homemade Adventures, based upon their recommendation that the pancakes are worth checking out. We each ordered a different entrée, but everything was ridiculously good. I went with the sundried tomato crêpe with a side of fruit (this is the sweetest pineapple and banana I have had in recent memory). Carla ordered the cinnamon pancake, which you can clearly see ONE pancake is enough to feed an army. It was also probably my favorite thing at the table. And Charlie ordered the veggie omelet, which was another favorite. The mix of sweet and savory was perfect from all of the entrees. The only thing I would change is smaller "tapas sized" portions, because picking only one or to things from the menu is impossible!

Definitely enjoyed myself here, and I do recommend this place. Was seated fast as there was a place at the bar counter. Place was clean and organized. Seating was a bit limited but they were also busy, so hard to say if there were enough seats or not. But I did not have to wait to be seated, so that's a plus. I had the Avocado Toast, and the Mc Breakfast, with a side pancake (plain). The avocado toast was excellent! Definitely will eat that again, light, simple, refreshing, and definitely filling! The waitress took care of the order, got everything right and kept checking to make sure I was ok. I would probably make this place my go to breakfast spot whenever I stayed in the Hawaii Kai location.
