Our favorite brunch spot on the island 😍 #foodvlog #hawaiieats #brunchtime

EXPLOSIVELY DELICIOUS! 🌺🌴 Moena Café is an absolute GEM 💎 and a non-negotiable stop anytime you’re in Oahu 🏝️. The vibe is laid-back island charm mixed with top-tier service 🙌 and ridiculously fresh food that bursts with flavor 🤤. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm aloha spirit 🤙—genuine kindness you don’t get just anywhere. Now let’s talk about the avocado toast 🥑—hands down the best I’ve had anywhere, and I’ve eaten my way through plenty of brunch menus coast to coast 🌍. Creamy avocado piled high, perfectly seasoned, layered on thick, toasty bread that hits that crispy-soft balance just right 🍞✨. Add a poached egg 🍳 and a side of fresh fruit 🍓🍍 and you’re basically in breakfast heaven 😇. Every bite here is thoughtful, delicious, and made with care ❤️. Whether you're fueling up before a day of exploring 🏄‍♂️ or just looking for a place that feels like a warm Hawaiian hug 🤗, Moena Café delivers. Can’t wait to come back! 🌞 Also worth mentioning: I visited with a group of so-called “friends” who swore we’d keep in touch after I left the island 🙄. Funny how a tropical breeze can blow stronger than some friendships. Still, at least the memories (and the avocado toast 🥑) were real—unlike some of the people in the photo. Cheers to good food, beautiful views, and learning who’s really in your corner. 😉 MTC

Food (10/10), Service (5/10), Value (4/10), Hidden Fee (1/10), Transparency (0/10). The food was excellent and exceeded expectations, but the excitement ended there! Service was average, not memorable. The deal-breaker and biggest disappointment was the "hidden fee" of 4%, which was automatically added to the check for "restaurant service". It's the principal which was upsetting, and the lack of transparency. A non-negotiable fee of 4% is no longer a tip IMO, but an added cost of the food, which should be reflected in the price of the food on the menu to make it obvious, not secretly added as a fee. The arrogance of sneaking in a fee of 4% and then making tipping suggestions on the check for up to 30% is unethical and a violation of trust. Maybe many customers don't realize the tipping scheme, but that doesn't make it right. Please do the right thing and conform to a more traditional tipping approach, it has worked for generations and will help you develop a more loyal customer base. Trust your customers and let them have a voice, they will do the right thing for the restaurant and its staff.

I love this little cafe. It's the only place on O'ahu I've found real corned beef instead of canned. The food was really good (I had corned beef hash, toast, coffee and strawberry waffles).

I have a couple small suggestions however:

• Corned beef should come in larger pieces and should fall apart like a braised meat. What I was served was more like chopped ham, and while the flavor was great, texturally it just isn't the same. Corned beef shoulb be tender, like a meat that'a been slowly cooked in liquids for 6-8 hours. Also, it should be served with onions AND bell peppers, not just onions. The eggs were awesome.

• Coffee is one refill only. I spent $60 on my brkfst, and this just feels miserly to me. I only wanted one more cup, but I had to buy coffee a second time and take an extra cup with me. No one likes feeling nickled and dimed, especially when you're already paying really high prices for the food to begin with. Hell, coffee should be complimentary. Really great coffee, btw. Just stop making people pay twice, that looks REALLY BAD.

• The menu says waffles have a choice between maple syrup or coconut syrup, however I was not offered this choice.

• The choice to toast the toast on only one side is an interesting one. Can't say I hate it, can't say I love it either. In the end I guess it's just toast.

3rd time eating here:

Quality seems to be dropping a little. Overall still not bad, however...

• Country potatoes portion is pretty small. • Everything was a little 'dry'. My omelette was still good, but the potatoes need to be cooked with onions and bell peppers so they aren't as dry. They also had a slight burnt aftertaste to them. • At $35 for brkfst for one person, it just doesn't seem worth it. Smaller portions, average quality. • Best thing about this place is still the coffee - Kona is the best coffee in the world, barely needs anything...

Terrible service. The waitress was extremely disrespectful and rude. On big parties they do not accept split checks and when my husband made the reservation he miss heard them and thought they said cash only. The waitress began to get upset and claimed she told my husband three times about the payment arrangements and my husband apologized and she began to continue to belittle him and had a nasty attitude. I asked her nicely please to not disrespectmy husband and she continued to let him know how she told him three times that she told on the phone they dont allow split checks. She huffed and puffed. I asked her for the manager and she told me no one was available. I asked another coworker and then she told me the girl we spoke with was the manager. So i asked to speak to the owner and she told she would get the number. Then when i asled another waitress she told her she wasnt dealing with me right now and she would get the number later. After 15 mins I asked for the number again and she told me she couldnt get me the number because the owner only had their personal number. Her story kept changing and the waiters were covering for each other. DO NOT COME TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT. The service was completely terrible. I will never go back here. If you have a bug...
