Horrible management and horrible customer service. Not sure if this person gave me a fake name, but she presented herself as the manager, Amy. Her demeanor was very rude, condescending, and passive aggressive. I called to ask to cancel because I had a medical emergency and I am not able to hike. Her response was “you had all the time in the world to cancel.” So she said she was going to charge me a cancelation fee because I didn’t cancel within 48 hours. But how am I supposed to cancel when my medical emergency happened after the 48 hours. So it really doesn’t make sense because someone could get hurt 1 hour before the event and still get charged the fee. I told her I was going to dispute the charge because it’s not fair to be charged for a medical emergency when I cannot physically do the event. And then she goes “go ahead we win all these disputes. We’re gonna fight you till the end. We always win.” I didn’t not give her permission to cancel my reservation and she did it anyways. She also canceled other people’s reservation and charged them the cancellation fee even though she did not get permission from them to cancel. You’re stealing peoples money at this point. You did not talk to them, so why are you canceling other people’s reservations and charging the cancellation fee? This company is a joke and there’s plenty of reviews to prove that.
Edit: a supervisor reached out to me and solved the issue. She was understanding and apologetic about the situation.
Another edit because owners response wants to be irrational and defensive. Same way with how rude and defensive you get with all your negative reviews because you know yourself that your customer service sucks and your agency sucks. Why wait over two weeks to respond, your fact check credibility fails with your late response. First of all, why would we even go out of way to write a review and waste our own time to purposely flame a worker for no reason? Use some logical sense. I have better use of my time than wasting time writing a review on your company. Obviously, she was being rude and disrespectful and cussed us out first for us to react the way we reacted. Second of all, I had a medical emergency and needed to cancel. I have all the proper documentation and proof needed. No way your worker or anyone has the right to talk to us how Amy did. Not to mention, she canceled everyone’s reservation without anyone’s consent and your company took our money, before the supervisor had to setup in. Train your employees to do better and teach them to be nicer to customers. I’m not going to run through the logistics of he said she said, you have every right to defend your incompetent employee and believe anything you...

First off, all the great reviews you see are true. My name is Koa and I have worked for this Business during my undergraduate at the University of Hawaii. So all those amazing reviews you see of me wouldn't have happened without the professional training of Kaimana Tours, which you will see with all the drivers of the company. Just to name a few, Diogo and Landon (both are professional jiu-jitsu athletes), and Uncle Marcio are the best in the business. You will have them as your drivers. Not only do they provide outstanding service, but they make you feel like a part of the family, a "local".
Apart from the drivers, you have the hard-working women who are the backbone of the company. Aunty Lira and Monique. Both are there working day in day out, accommodating all your needs.
Kaimana Tours provide both Group and Private Tours. A few attractions you will experience are:
Manoa Falls "Rainforest Hike". A few films shot there are Jurassic Park, Hunger Games, Jumangi. Recommended attire: Comfortable hiking shoes, raincoat since it does rain there. If you do not have a raincoat, they are for sale.
Diamond Head Crater (Yes, you will be in an actual volcano that erupted a long time ago). Hawaii 5-0 (The television show) usually films there, so you may get lucky. They also have the famous "Dole Plantation" Pineapple Shack for food and drinks to snack on inside the crater. Recommended attire: Comfortable hiking shoes and light clothing.
Makapu'u Lighthouse (Breathtaking view of the East Side of Hawaii). Recommended attire: Comfortable hiking shoes and light clothing.
Haunama Bay, which Kaimana Tours will offer snorkeling gear to see all of Hawaii exotic fishes.
If you are unsure if you should book the company, I strongly suggest you give them a chance. Unlike most tour companies, Kaimana actually treats you like family. You will learn a lot about Hawaii, the places to go for local food, and even Hawaiian words we use daily.
Enjoy your vacation and have fun in...
Read moreWe did the Diamondhead Tour on the 13th. I called the day before to make sure the tour was still on, and the person that answered the phone was not very talkative to the point of being rude. The actual pick up site was at a hotel near where we were staying, so we had to take a short walk, which was no big deal. We meet up with the "tour guide", Roger, who was more of a driver than a guide. He did point out some areas of interest on the way to Diamondhead, and was almost emphatic about when we walked the trail and came to "the steps" that the people in the bus should consider taking the path to the left. When we got to Diamondhead, he walked us as a group through a check point and told us "see you in two hours". and we were left to our own devises. For us, it was OK, we just took the path in front of us, but others looked lost. We did "the steps" when we got to the decision point, which weren't terrible. It would have been nice to have been told about the tunnel and the two winding staircases after that. The view itself once we got to the top was spectacular, and the vistas on the way down ( we took the easy path so it would be a loop) were so pretty. We got back to "meeting place" which was more like a bus stop, and two hours from the time Roger left us the bus appeared. We all boarded the bus, and on the way back, Roger flipped out a video screen that showed a suggestion of two tours we could do, and then also projected "good places to eat" and that before we left the bus we should take a screen shot so we could use it as a guide. It would have been way too small with poor resolution to take a picture with my phone. All in all, this was an average experience. It did help us to not have to find a place to park the car, and it did get us to the park at a cooler time of day. It was raining off and on, and really muggy, but that wasn't the tour...
